Pactlio MCP is a set of contract tools for AI agents that exposes Pactlio's AI contract engine to various AI clients through a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. The service is free, anonymous, requires no API key, and the endpoint address is https://www.pactlio.com/api/mcp(Streamable HTTP), with documentation at https://www.pactlio.com/mcp。
Purpose This tool is designed to let AI agents invoke Pactlio's capabilities in contract-related tasks, including: providing requirements for cited legal provisions by contract type and jurisdiction, determining the enforceability of U.S. non-compete clauses, and performing contract drafting and risk analysis.
Main capabilities
- Knowledge tools: provide a list of contract types, rule requirements for specific jurisdictions, intake questions, etc. These tools are free and fast, are pure data queries, and do not call an LLM.
- Drafting and analysis: support starting contract drafting, checking draft status, and obtaining a checkout link. Drafting and analysis are free but subject to a daily per-IP limit. Drafts return only the beginning portion; the full contract must be unlocked through checkout.
How to use Supports multiple MCP clients:
- Cursor / VS Code / any MCP client: configure via mcp.json.
- Claude.ai / ChatGPT: add the endpoint URL as a custom connector.
- OpenClaw: see openclaw-plugin/ and skills/pactlio/ in the repository.
Typical agent flow:
- list_contract_types → select document type
- get_jurisdiction_requirements → check state-specific rules
- get_intake_questions → collect detailed information from the user
- Confirm with the user that they accept the terms of use and understand the output is an AI-generated draft that requires review
- start_contract_draft with accept_terms: true → start generation (rejected if not set)
- get_draft_status → poll until complete, display the free preview
- get_checkout_link → give the unlock URL to the user
Applicable scenarios Suitable for AI agent integration scenarios requiring contract drafting, risk analysis, and jurisdiction rule lookup, especially for U.S. contract-related tasks.
Limitations
- Pactlio is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice; using these tools does not create an attorney-client relationship.
- All output is AI-generated drafts and must be reviewed before reliance.
- Drafting requires the end user to accept the terms of use (accept_terms: true), and tools that return drafts repeat the disclaimer and terms link in every response. Integrating these toolsthe agent must display this disclaimer to the user and must not remove it.
- Drafts return only the beginning portion; the full contract must be unlocked through checkout.
- Drafting and analysis are subject to a daily per-IP limit.
Repository contents
- server.json — MCP registry manifest
- openclaw-plugin/ — OpenClaw plugin that exposes the same tools, prefixed with pactlio_contracts_*
- skills/pactlio/ — OpenClaw skill describing the contract workflow The server itself runs within the Pactlio application; this repository contains the client wrappers and manifest files.
