About this tool

PR-Agent is an open-source, AI-powered code review agent, and also Qodo's community-maintained legacy project. The material clearly states: this repository contains the open-source PR-Agent project, which is not equivalent to Qodo's free service for open-source projects; Qodo itself also provides a free version for open-source projects and offers automated reviews integrated with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps. PR-Agent is community-maintained, with development supported by sponsors.

Main uses and capabilities: PR-Agent's tools work by posting comments on PRs or running from the CLI. Common tools include /review, /improve, /ask, and so on. For the full list of tools, see its Tools documentation; each tool page includes example commands, screenshots, and options. Its positioning is for real development teams: each tool makes a single LLM call, completes in about 30 seconds, and is low-cost; with the PR compression strategy, it can effectively handle both small and large PRs; through JSON-based prompt configuration, review categories and behavior can be customized.

Platform and model support: for Git providers, it supports GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, Azure DevOps, and Gitea; deployment methods include CLI, GitHub Actions, Docker, self-hosting, and Webhook; for AI models, it supports OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, as well as any model accessible through LiteLLM (such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, Databricks, OpenRouter, Ollama, etc.). For the support matrix of features and Git providers, see the PR-Agent documentation.

How to use: automated PR reviews can be added to a repository through a simple workflow file (there is a complete GitHub Action setup guide); PR-Agent can also be run locally against a repository. Each Git provider's SDK is an optional add-on; you can install the package for the corresponding provider, or install pr-agent[all] to get all integrations. The material also provides a CLI setup guide, GitLab Webhook setup, BitBucket app installation, and AzureDevOps setup entry points.

Version and namespace changes: starting from version 0.34.2 and later, Docker images are published under the pragent/pr-agent namespace; earlier versions (up to v0.31) remain in the old codiumai/pr-agent namespace as a frozen archive, and no new images are pushed there. When upgrading to 0.34.2+, the pinned image references need to be updated, including docker pull and uses: docker://, etc.

Open source and data control: the project emphasizes full control over data and infrastructure, customizable prompts and behavior according to team needs, no vendor lock-in, and community-driven development. If used in a self-hosted manner with your own OpenAI API key, the data relationship is between the user and OpenAI; the material provides a link to OpenAI's enterprise privacy policy.

Project governance and developments: PR-Agent has a new home; the project is now located in the PR-Agent organization on GitHub, is fully community-owned, open to contributions, and welcomes more maintainers; the documentation has migrated to docs.pr-agent.ai; the original hosted service as an enterprise edition, Qodo Merge (Qodo 1.0), has been renamed and evolved into Qodo (Qodo 2.0), a complete AI code review platform. The project already has its first external maintainer, Naor (@naorpeled), and is being donated to an open-source foundation.

Known limitations and notes: as of v0.36.1, /help_docs is temporarily disabled due to a credential exposure issue, pending a fix (related issue #2445). For contributions, you can read the contribution guide; for local verification, you can run PYTHONPATH=. uv run pytest in the repository root, which by default discovers the unit test suite under tests/unittest; the end-to-end tests under tests/e2e_tests require provider credentials and must be invoked explicitly, for example PYTHONPATH=. uv run pytest tests/e2e_tests/test_github_app.py.

For the specific commands, screenshots, and options of other tools, as well as the full details of the feature support matrix, see the PR-Agent official documentation and each tool page.
