About this tool

Purpose

This is an AI poetry generation tool, aimed at users who need to quickly write poetry. According to the official introduction, it is completely free, requires no registration, has no usage limit, and does not require binding a credit card; the features on the website are not hidden behind a paywall.

Main capabilities

The tool provides fifteen poetic forms, each with its own rule constraints, including syllable count, rhyme scheme, number of lines, and the position of the poetic turn. The forms listed in the material include: haiku (three lines, 5-7-5 syllables), sonnet (14 lines, iambic pentameter), limerick (five lines, AABBA, comedic style), narrative poem (four-line stanzas telling a story), villanelle (19 lines, with two refrains returning), ode (sustained praise of a single subject), elegy (a poem of mourning), acrostic (the first letters spell out a word), heroic long narrative poem, tanka (five lines, 5-7-5-7-7), cinquain (five lines, 2-4-6-8-2 syllables), blank verse (iambic pentameter, unrhymed), couplet (paired rhyming lines), rap verse (paragraphs with internal rhyme), and so on.

Rhyme schemes are selectable: couplet, alternate rhyme, enclosed rhyme, ballad rhyme, monorhyme, or no rhyme. For poetic forms with a fixed syllable count, a syllable counter is displayed in the sidebar during generation. There is also a real-time syllable count next to each line in the editor; if a line's syllable count is incorrect, the count turns amber, and it can be corrected manually. The same syllable counter is also used for tanka and cinquain.

The generated content actively avoids cliches. The official explanation mentions that common stock phrases such as "whispering wind," "dancing shadows," "tapestry of life," and "heart soaring" are explicitly excluded by the instructions, while also avoiding distorting sentence order just to make a rhyme. If a rhyme forces an unnatural word order or a word no one would use, that line is rewritten. The tool places more emphasis on concrete imagery than on abstract adjectives.

How to use

Use consists of three steps:

  1. Choose a form: select a poetic form on the left; the form determines the shape of the poem, including the number of lines, which lines rhyme, and where the turn appears.
  2. Fill in the theme and generate: in the form, explain what the poem is about, then click the "Write the poem" button (you can also press the ⌘ + Enter shortcut). The verses stream out line by line. If the form has a fixed syllable count, a syllable counter is displayed in the sidebar.
  3. Edit it yourself: every line can be modified directly; you can change words, cut sections, and change the title. The word count, line count, and syllable count update as you type, and you can copy, download as a text file, or export as an image, and choose a font.

The personalization fields are used to fill in specific information, such as names, dates, places, and shared memories, and the tool will use these as material to blend in.into the poem, rather than listing them out like a checklist.

Use cases

The use cases officially listed include:

  • Weddings and anniversaries: for recitations, toasts, or card messages
  • Birthdays: humorous for friends, gentle for parents, simple for children
  • Funerals and eulogies: keep a restrained elegy
  • Schools and coursework: demonstrate the rules of form for easier learning
  • Greeting cards: a four-line poem fits the card space and does not sound store-bought
  • Write for yourself: not for a deadline

Language support

Supports English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Urdu, and Hindi. Titles and creation instructions use the same language as the poem.

Limitations and notes

  • On copyright: generated poems may be freely used for greeting cards, speeches, wedding recitations, school assignments, or books, and the official source does not claim rights. However, note that in most countries, including the United States, purely machine-generated text itself cannot obtain copyright protection, so others cannot be prevented from using the exact same poem.
  • On AI detection: the official source notes that AI detectors are not fully reliable in either direction, and human-written poems may also be flagged. If a poem is used in class, the official source's recommended honest approach is to first generate a version, study how the form works, and then write it yourself.
  • On content style: the tool avoids certain clichés and forced rhymes, but this is a tendency in generation style, not an absolute guarantee.
  • The materials do not provide more information on pricing tiers, account systems, API interfaces, history retention, mobile apps, and so on.

Related tools

In the same introduction, the official source mentions another free tool, SuperHumanizer, for rewriting similar formulaic expressions in prose, but does not provide detailed information about that tool.
