SetShaper is a desktop application for the entire film and television production workflow, capable of running offline, designed to integrate multiple tools commonly used in production into a single application while keeping data synchronized across all parts.
Purpose SetShaper is used to manage the complete film and television production process from script to shooting, including script breakdown, shooting scheduling, budgeting, call sheet generation, storyboarding, transportation and cost tracking, and more. It is aimed at production professionals such as producers, production managers, and directors who need unified management of the production workflow.
Main capabilities
- Script breakdown: AI marks props, costumes, vehicles, and stunts locally on your computer; the script never leaves your machine. Tags that need to be tracked can be promoted to elements, budgets can be imported, and every scene in which an element appears can be viewed on the Magic Sheet.
- One-click scheduling: Set dates, import the script, and click Optimize; each scene is automatically assigned to a shooting day, grouped by location, day and night are distinguished, and cast availability is respected. If GPS coordinates are provided for locations, driving distance between locations is also reduced.
- Budget and cost linkage: You can start from a template, your own rate card, or a budget imported from Movie Magic (.xml) or Excel. After importing characters or an entire department, SetShaper reads their work, standby, travel, and prep days from the Day out of Days and calculates them at their respective rates. Move a shooting day, and the corresponding line in the budget updates accordingly.
- Call sheets and sides: Autofill brings in the day's scenes, cast, and locations, as well as the hospital and parking information saved for each location. When there is an internet connection, weather is filled in for locations with GPS coordinates. You can send a prelim, convert it to final, and publish a numbered revision with changes printed below the header. The day's sides are appended in the same PDF, with no need to manually trim in Final Draft.
- Storyboarding: Associate camera angles and framing with each scene. Shots without artwork automatically generate framing diagrams based on shot size, angle, and subject. You can set shot duration and export the storyboard as an animatic video.
- Expense tracking: Record expenses against each budget line with invoices or proof of payment attached, and variances update in real time. Payment Schedule shows amounts due, and Cashflow tracks money in and out.
- Team collaboration: Supports real-time team collaboration, peer-to-peer over your own network, not stored on a server.

A 7-day free trial is offered, after which it is $49.99 per month or $449.99 per year, cancellable at any time, and time passes or lifetime licenses can also be purchased.
Use cases Suitable for film and television productions that need unified management of scheduling, budgeting, breakdown, and call sheets, especially for working on closed sets or in remote locations without signal, and for teams that want to reduce data fragmentation across multiple tools.
Limitations The materials do not provide information about supported operating systems, specific system requirements, detailed technical limitations of team collaboration, languages supported by AI breakdown, or a complete list of export formats.
