About this tool

Purpose Grok Button is used to integrate Grok into the browser, allowing users to ask questions without leaving the current page. It puts Grok in a "one-click-accessible" position during browsing, suitable for scenarios where you need to ask Grok questions while browsing.

Main capabilities This extension provides six small integrations, each of which can be used independently:

  1. Prompt popup: Enter a prompt in the toolbar popup, and when Grok opens, the prompt is already prefilled. Press Ctrl+Enter to submit, or click the button to submit directly.

  2. Address bar keyword: Type grok, press space, enter your question, then press Enter. When Grok opens, the prompt is ready.

  3. Right-click any content: Select text on any page, right-click, choose Grok, and ask a question about that text.

  4. Ask Grok on Google: An "Ask Grok" button appears in search results, which can take the query directly to Grok. Can be turned on or off in "Options."

  5. Grokipedia on Wikipedia: The article page shows a bar for opening the same topic in Grokipedia. It can be dismissed per article, and after dismissal it stays hidden.

  6. Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+G (Cmd+Shift+G on Mac) opens the popup without a mouse.

How to use

  1. Install: Add Grok Button from the Chrome Web Store with one click, then pin it to the toolbar.

  2. Ask anywhere: Use any of the popup, the grok keyword, right-click, Google, or Wikipedia.

  3. Get answers in Grok: The prompt is prefilled in Grok and waits to be run. You need to be logged in to X before use.
