About this tool

VidBG Remover is an online AI video background removal tool, focused on completing video background removal without a green screen, without installing software, and without editing skills.

[Purpose] Users can upload videos to the tool, and the AI automatically removes the background, producing a video result with a clean transparent background. It is suitable for production workflows that need to separate people, pets, vehicles, products, etc. from the original background and composite them again.

[Main capabilities]

  1. Supports uploading videos in MP4, MOV, or WebM format, with a maximum single file size of 200MB.
  2. Logged-in users can process videos up to 60 seconds long.
  3. AI automatically removes the background, keeping edges clean and stable, and the official description says it can reduce frame-by-frame flicker.
  4. It handles details such as hair and fingers, and High Quality and Portrait Enhancement can be enabled for finer edges.
  5. Output is video with a true transparent alpha channel: WebM (VP9) for the web, MOV (ProRes 4444) for professional editing.
  6. Supports importing MOV into Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, and CapCut.
  7. Supports use in mobile browsers (Safari, Chrome, etc.), with no need to download an app.
  8. The official description says it can handle natural light and studio light, shaky footage, people passing through the foreground, complex motion, and other scenarios.
  9. The official description also mentions support for background removal from existing green screen footage.

[How to use] Three-step process: upload a video (the file enters secure cloud storage, with no local processing required); AI automatically removes the background (most clips are completed within minutes, with the specific time depending on video length); download the result (WebM or MOV). Free tasks may be queued, and tasks from users who purchase credit packs take priority over free tasks that have not yet started.

[Applicable scenarios] The scenarios officially listed include: replacing the background of talking-head videos, compositing one e-commerce ad shoot into multiple scenarios and A/B testing, overlaying online course instructors onto courseware, full-body motion keying for action shots, extracting pet/animal meme material, and keying for automotive effects and compositing.

[Limitations and notes]

  1. MP4 export is not supported because MP4 does not support a transparent alpha channel; transparent versions require WebM or MOV (ProRes 4444).
  2. MOV uses Apple ProRes 4444 encoding, and macOS players, CapCut, Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve can open it directly; some Windows players (such as the built-in "Movies & TV" app) may lack a ProRes decoder, so VLC is recommended or importing directly into editing software.
  3. Free videos are retained for 24 hours; videos uploaded after purchasing a credit pack are retained for 7 days, then automatically deleted. The official description says user content will not be used to train models.
  4. The object removal feature is on the roadmap and has not yet launched.
  5. Processing time depends on video length and resolution, and the service limits the number of tasks running simultaneously.

[Pricing method] It uses a credit system, not a subscription system. Credits do not expire, are purchased one-time, and are used on demand. The specific tiers are listed on the official page (basic processing durations of about 120 seconds, about 480 seconds, about 1500 seconds, and about 6000 seconds), and an ad-free experience is also provided. Specific prices are not yet provided.

[Category] Based on its clearly stated purpose, it belongs to AI video tools.
