Purpose
Digitool is a manually curated digital tool directory website, mainly aimed at businesses, independent entrepreneurs (solopreneurs), and creators. Its core purpose is to help users discover curated digital tools on the internet, covering more than 30 categories such as marketing, AI, design, finance, and productivity, while also providing tool providers with a channel to submit and promote their products.
Main Capabilities
- Tool discovery and browsing: Provides a curated tool directory that users can explore through navigation; the platform also offers tool comparison content (for example, a comparison of 15 AI SEO tools).
- Tool submission: Users can submit their own digital products to the platform, with a maximum of 5 tools per account.
- Voting and ranking: The platform uses a weekly voting system, resetting all vote counts every Sunday at 12pm EST to ensure that newly submitted tools and classic tools receive fair exposure. Products with more votes rank higher, and rankings reset weekly.
- Featured tools section and paid boosts: Provides a featured tools section, ranking products based on the pay-what-you-wish amount at submission to achieve listing boosts.
- All-time leaderboard: Displays a top 100 leaderboard of the platform's most popular tools of all time, ranked by total historical votes.
- Subscription and contact: Users can subscribe to updates and contact the support team via hello@digitool.co.
How to Use
- Browse tools: No account is required to browse the directory through the explore navigation; after registering an account, users can submit tools, vote, and manage their own listings.
- Submit tools: After creating a free account, submit digital products, and optionally pay a pay-what-you-wish amount to receive featured placement.
- Increase exposure: Improve rankings by getting as many votes as possible; additional exposure can also be obtained through the featured section and pay-what-you-wish amounts.
- Remove tools: After logging in, hover over the target tool in the 'my tools' area of the account and click 'x' to remove it.
- Resubmit: If a submission is rejected, it can be re-evaluated and submitted again after 7 days.
