Firefly MCP (Model Context Protocol) server is a TypeScript-implemented server designed to integrate seamlessly with the Firefly platform, enabling users to discover, manage, and code cloud resources across cloud and SaaS accounts.
Key capabilities include:
- Resource discovery: find any resource in cloud and SaaS accounts.
- Resource as code: convert discovered resources into Infrastructure as Code.
- Secure authentication: use FIREFLY_ACCESS_KEY and FIREFLY_SECRET_KEY for secure communication.
- Easy integration: works seamlessly with Claude and Cursor.
Prerequisites: Node.js v20 or higher is required, as well as a Firefly account with generated access keys.
Usage:
- The Firefly MCP server can be run directly via NPX.
- There are two ways to provide Firefly credentials: using environment variables or using parameters.
- Update the mcp.json file, then run the MCP server using either of the above methods.
- When used with Cursor: first start the MCP server, then connect to the MCP server through the Cursor extension (refer to the Cursor Model Context Protocol documentation) to query resources using natural language.
