Purpose
Kudosity MCP Server provides native tools for AI agents to send SMS, MMS, and WhatsApp messages through the Kudosity platform, manage contacts and webhooks, and research the Kudosity API. This server is built on the Model Context Protocol, allowing agents to invoke tools such as send_sms without manually constructing HTTP requests.
Key Capabilities
- Message sending: Send SMS, MMS, and WhatsApp messages.
- Message querying: Retrieve delivery reports, view sent SMS, view inbound SMS replies, and more.
- Contacts and lists: Create contact lists, add contacts, and more (requires KUDOSITY_API_SECRET).
- Webhook management: Register webhooks for events such as SMS delivery status.
- Account information: Query account balance (requires KUDOSITY_API_SECRET).
- API discovery: Research the entire Kudosity API, always reading live specifications from developers.kudosity.com, reflecting the latest published documentation.
Usage
- How to run: Run via npx, no need to clone the repository.
- Authentication: Authenticate using a Kudosity API key; the contacts and balance tools also require an API key (KUDOSITY_API_SECRET). Credentials are read from environment variables, are never written to disk, and should be treated as confidential.
- Configuration: Supports clients such as Claude Desktop / Claude Code, Cursor (.cursor/mcp.json), and VS Code (.vscode/mcp.json). KUDOSITY_API_SECRET is optional and can be omitted if only messaging, webhook, and discovery functionality are needed; the contacts and balance tools require it.
- Local development: You can use MCP Inspector to test the tool list, or run checks.
Use Cases
- Enable AI agents to automatically send SMS notifications such as order shipment notices.
- Send WhatsApp template messages.
- Query sent SMS and inbound replies.
- Create and manage contact lists (such as VIPs).
- Register webhooks to receiveSMS delivery status.
- Query account balance.
- Search Kudosity API documentation (such as content about unsubscribing).
Limitations
- Requires a Kudosity account and API key; the contacts and balance tools also require an API key.
- Kudosity has two API interfaces, and this server uses them in scenarios where each is authoritative.
- Specific platform compatibility, fees, pricing, performance, or additional interaction details are not yet provided.
