mcp-ai-tooling-detector is an MCP server that wraps the Mamba Labs AI Tooling Detector as a single tool for MCP clients to call.
Purpose: Given any company domain, determine whether the company merely talks about AI, actually runs AI tools on its website, or charges for AI, and provide the evidence on which the determination is based. The output is flat, Clay-ready JSON.
Main capability: The server exposes one tool to AI clients, detect_ai_tooling, which returns the ai_maturity level for a company domain along with supporting evidence. The level has four tiers, and each tier requires evidence of its own category. If the domain is behind a bot verification challenge, the system returns blocked: true with low confidence instead of confidently determining "no," thereby avoiding mistaking a challenged website for a company with no AI at all.
Usage: All work runs on Apify, and this package is a thin client responsible for routing tool calls to the actor and returning results. It requires Node.js 18 or newer, as well as an Apify account and API token (obtained from https://console.apify.com/account/integrations ). Add the server to the Claude Desktop configuration, restart the client, and the detect_ai_tooling tool will appear. The tool is read-only and idempotent, and writes nothing. The tool starts an actor run and polls until completion, so long tasks will not be truncated at 300 seconds; runs are allowed 1800 seconds. If it is still in progress two minutes past that time, the call stops waiting and returns the run ID and its link in the Apify Console; unsuccessful runs are returned as an error with the run ID and status.
Example prompts:
- "Does intercom.com actually charge for AI, or is it just marketing?"
- "Check the AI adoption of notion.so, figma.com, and berkshirehathaway.com, and tell me which ones already pay for AI."
- "Which AI vendors are running on zendesk.com?"
- "Does cursor.com publish llms.txt, and does its robots.txt block GPTBot?"
Use cases: Suitable for users who need to assess enterprise AI maturity and conduct go-to-market signal intelligence analysis, and can be used as part of the Mamba Labs GTM Suite; the suite is a set of specialized MCP servers, each backed by a dedicated Apify actor, and the @mambalabsdev/mcp-gtm-suite umbrella server can expose all tools, including this server, through a single installation.
Limitations: Calls consume Apify credits and are billed per domain analyzed; the free Apify plan gets 15 results per calendar month. Input reference, the full list of output fields, pricing tiers, error handling, and measured limits are detailed on the actor's Apify Store page:https://apify.com/mambalabs/ai-tooling-detector。不可变 The actor ID is EwkHhmqiuJgRoVEbE. Other specific features, charges, prices, platforms, effects, or usage steps are not provided if the materials do not provide them.
