Citlyze MCP is designed to connect AI assistants with Citlyze's AI search visibility data. Citlyze is an AI search visibility platform where users can ask questions directly in the assistant, such as "How visible is my brand in AI answers this month?" or "Which domains are cited in my tracked prompts?", and get answers directly from workspace data.
Key capabilities: Provides read-only access to Citlyze workspace data, supporting queries about a brand's visibility in AI search, citations, tracked prompt performance, and more. The tools are designed to be read-only and cannot make any modifications to the workspace.
How to use: The MCP server is a hosted endpoint that uses streaming HTTP protocol and authenticates via Bearer token (workspace API key). The key must be created at app.citlyze.com/workspace-settings, and requires a subscription plan that includes API access. This repository is also a Gemini CLI extension; after installation, you need to export the API key before starting Gemini CLI. If your Gemini CLI version does not support expanding environment variables in the extension header, you can run gemini extensions edit citlyze and replace ${CITLYZE_API_KEY}. Configuration guides for other MCP clients (such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, JetBrains, etc.) can be found in the Citlyze MCP documentation; for clients that only support stdio, you can bridge with mcp-remote.
In addition, Citlyze/citlyze-skills provides ready-made skills for using these MCP tools (visibility reports, citation gap analysis, prompt audits, action plans) as well as a standalone AEO page audit, following the open SKILL.md standard, and can be used in compatible agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and others.
Use cases: Suitable for users who need to monitor brand performance in AI search, analyze citation sources, and audit tracked prompts, quickly obtaining workspace data insights through AI assistants.
Limitations: All tools are read-only and cannot modify the workspace; a valid API key and a plan that supports API access are required; requests are rate-limited by key.The server only reads workspace data associated with the API key.
