Purpose
domain-suite-mcp is a domain and DNS management MCP server for AI agents. It is designed to fill the last gap in an agent's autonomous delivery workflow: agents can already write code, configure infrastructure, and push to production, while domain and DNS management previously still required human intervention. This server lets agents complete the entire domain lifecycle end to end without human intervention.
Main capabilities
- Acts as a unified abstraction layer, connecting to multiple domain registrar and DNS provider APIs and exposing a consistent set of 21 MCP tools externally.
- Covers domain availability queries, registration, DNS management, SSL, and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and WHOIS.
- Supported providers include Porkbun, Namecheap, GoDaddy, and Cloudflare.
- Fully stateless: no database, no persistent authentication, no server to maintain, and each call fetches the latest data directly from the provider API.
- Error messages are designed specifically for agents, formatted as
[ERROR_CODE] provider: what went wrong → what to do, explaining the cause of the problem and the next step, rather than raw API error codes or obscure status numbers. - The five bundled preset Claude Code skills can be called directly:
/domain-check、/domain-register、/domain-dns-setup、/domain-email-setup、/domain-full-setup.
How to use
- Domain availability checks require no installation and zero configuration, and can be used immediately via the public RDAP/WHOIS protocols.
- After adding provider credentials via environment variables, more features such as registration, DNS management, and SSL can be enabled.
- Supports global installation, and Claude Code skills can be installed: this command copies the skills to
~/.claude/skills/, and Claude Code needs to be restarted to activate them. - Can print ready-to-use JSON configuration snippets for Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, or any MCP client.
- Configuration example: add to
claude_desktop_config.json(the original text provides a JSON configuration snippet, but the specific content is not given in the materials); for Cursor / Windsurf / Kiro, add the configuration to the corresponding client's MCP settings. - You can also install the skills first, then add the MCP server to the project settings, after which the skills can be called directly in Claude Code.
- For the complete workflow patterns and prompt templates, see
docs/SKILLS.md; for the complete tool reference (including schemas and examples), seedocs/TOOLS.md.
Use cases
- Automation scenarios that require AI agents to autonomously complete the entire process from domain lookup and registration to DNS configuration and email authentication setup.
- Development workflows using MCP-compatible clients such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and Kiro.
- Situations where you want to manage multiple registrars and DNS providers uniformly and avoid integrating with different APIs separately.
Limitations and notes
- GoDaddy DNS management requires more than 10 active domains, or a Domain Pro subscription (about $240/year).
- Namecheap requires adding the server IP to the whitelist in Profile → Tools → API Access → Whitelisted IPs; otherwise no call will work.
- Recommended setup: register domains with Porkbun or Namecheap, then point the nameservers to Cloudflare for DNS, balancing registration convenience with Cloudflare's fast DNS API.
