Purpose
Warhammer Oracle is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that connects the rules, unit data, and game flow of Warhammer 40K and Kill Team to AI assistants. You can ask the AI assistant about datasheets, stratagems, detachments, enhancements, keywords, phase sequences, wound calculations, and more.
It covers the following game modes:
- Warhammer 40,000 (
40k/40k_11e, default) — full-scale battles, 11th edition rules; - Warhammer 40,000 10th edition (
40k_10e) — full-scale battles, 10th edition rules (permanently supported); - Combat Patrol (
combat_patrol) — a smaller, beginner-friendly format; - Kill Team (
kill_team) — a squad-level skirmish game.
40K unit, detachment, and enhancement queries use 11th edition by default. Pass game_mode: "40k_10e" to any tool to query 10th edition data. 10th edition support will not disappear because a new edition is added, and every game_mode value that has been added will remain available. Turn sequence/phases, core keywords, and core stratagems are hand-compiled from the 11th edition core rules. Detachment-specific stratagems are hand-compiled by faction, using the same layering as the tabletop rules: detachments fully detailed in an 11th edition faction pack override the base codex, and the unrevised codex baseline applies elsewhere.
Main capabilities (tools)
Unit datasheet lookup
Look up a unit datasheet by name, returning the stat profile, unit size (number of models), ranged and melee weapons, abilities, and keywords. When different datasheets exist for the same name, the tool lists the matching factions; if there are still multiple datasheets for the name and faction, it lists their IDs, and you can pass back the faction and a datasheet_id to select one.
Parameters:unit_name(required),faction(optional),datasheet_id(optional, exact ID for variants within the same faction),game_mode(optional:40k / 40k_11e(default),40k_10e、combat_patrol、kill_team).
Keyword or rule lookup
Returns the official definition, a plain-language explanation, examples, and the applicable game modes.
Parameters:keyword(required),game_mode(optional).
Phase lookup
Look up a game phase by name, returning step-by-step instructions and tips.
Parameters:phase_name(required),game_mode(optional, default 40k).
Unit search
Search for units by name, faction, keyword, or ability text. Returns a compact list (up to 10 entries) including faction, points, and keywords.
Parameters:query(required),faction(optional),ability(optional),max_points(optional),game_mode(optional:40k / 40k_11e(default),40k_10e、combat_patrol、kill_team).
Unit comparison
Compare 2-4 units side by side, showing the full datasheet for each unit in a single response.
Parameters:units(required, an array of 2-4 unit names),game_mode(optional:40k / 40k_11e(default),40k_10e、combat_patrol、kill_team).
Turn sequence
Show the full turn sequence for a game mode, or highlight the current turn position and the next step.
Parameters:current_phase(optional),game_mode(optional, default 40k).
Strategy Lookup (lookup_stratagem)
Look up a Warhammer 40,000 stratagem by name, returning CP cost, phase timing, target, and effect.
Parameters:name(required),faction(optional),phase(optional),detachment(optional).
Strategy Search (search_stratagems)
Search for stratagems by name, faction, phase, or detachment, returning a compact list (up to 10 entries).
Parameters:query(required),faction(optional),phase(optional),detachment(optional).
Detachment Lookup (lookup_detachment)
Look up a detachment by name, returning its detachment ability, available enhancements, and related stratagems.
Parameters:name(required),faction(optional),game_mode(optional:40k / 40k_11e(default),40k_10e).
Enhancement Lookup (lookup_enhancement)
Look up a character enhancement by name, returning its points cost, owning detachment, and effect.
Parameters:name(required),faction(optional),detachment(optional),game_mode(optional:40k / 40k_11e(default),40k_10e).
Kill Team Ploy Lookup
Look up a Kill Team ploy by name, returning its type (strategic/tactical), CP cost, timing, and effect.
Parameters:name(required),faction(optional),type(optional:strategic、tactical).
Wound Calculator (wound_calculator)
Calculate the expected damage output of an attack profile against a target, handling re-rolls, weapon keywords (Lethal Hits, Devastating Wounds, Sustained Hits, Torrent), invulnerable saves, and Pain immunity.
Parameters:attacks、hit_skill、strength、toughness、armour_save、damage(all required);armour_penetration、invulnerable_save、feel_no_pain、reroll_hits、reroll_wounds、weapon_keywords、wounds_per_model、game_mode(all optional).
Primary Mission Determination (determine_primary_mission)
Determine each player's primary mission based on both players' Force Dispositions (11th edition matched play). Each player's mission is looked up from their opponent's Force Dispositions—in non-mirror matchups, the two players receive different missions. Returns only the mission name, not the full scoring/objective text.
Parameters:your_disposition、opponent_disposition(all required, one of: Take and Hold, Purge the Foe, Reconnaissance, Priority Assets, Disruption).
Crusade Lookup
Look up Crusade (narrative play) content, returning Crusade rules, relics, battle traits, and upgrades.
