Purpose
Palmier Pro is a video editor built for AI, mainly aimed at creators, editors, agencies, and teams, used to automate repetitive video editing work and complete media generation and post-processing on the same timeline. It can be operated by AI agents while also retaining full manual editing capabilities.
Main Capabilities
- AI agent automated editing: AI agents such as Claude, Codex, or Cursor can open projects, build timelines, perform edits, and export finished videos. Supports connecting existing agents via MCP, continuing to use existing agent subscriptions.
- Skill reuse workflow: First complete one version of an edit with Claude or Codex, save that process as a Skill, and then use it for the next video. Suitable for repetitive clips, ads, and other formats with largely consistent rules.
- In-timeline media generation: Can generate images, video, voiceover, music, sound effects, mixing, and upscaling within the same workspace, without transferring files between multiple tools. Already integrated with mainstream image, video, and audio generation models.
- Full NLE editing capabilities: Can trim clips, add text, set keyframes, color grade, and complete edits.
- Export and collaboration: Can render H.264, H.265, or ProRes, or export NLE XML to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut.
- Palmier Service managed service: The team is responsible for building workflows and delivering finished videos; users review edits and pay per video, suitable for social ads, clips, and series content run weekly. Provides a dedicated Slack channel.
How to Use
- Download and install (free download, macOS only, minimum requirement macOS 26 (Tahoe)).
- Complete the first version of an edit in the editor, or have agents such as Claude, Codex, or Cursor connect via MCP and operate the project.
- Save the editing process as a Skill, which can be run repeatedly for subsequent videos.
- Can import your own media, mix it with generated clips on the same timeline, and export the finished product or XML to professional editing software for further processing.
Applicable Scenarios
- Video formats that require batch production and have relatively fixed rules, such as social ads, clips, and series content.
- Teams that want to integrate AI generation and editing on the same timeline and avoid switching between multiple tools.
- Workflows that need to combine AI preliminary editing with professional post-production.
Limitations and Notes
- Only supports macOS, with a minimum version of macOS 26 (Tahoe).
- The editor and MCP connection are free; credits are used for image, video, and audio generation, upscaling, cloud transcription, and Palmier chat, and the Pro version includes generation credits.
- The official statement says customer content will not be used to train Palmier or third-party AI models.
- Other costs, package details, the specific list of generation models, and platform support are not yet provided.
