About this tool

tossinvest-openapi-mcp is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for developers and AI agents, helping them browse, explore, and integrate with the specification documentation of the Toss Securities Open API. The project is published on GitHub by JeongSeongMok.

Purpose: This server embeds the Toss Securities OpenAPI specification and provides it to AI coding agents as MCP tools. It is positioned as a read-only documentation and exploration server; it does not call the real API, does not execute orders, and does not require any authentication information. It is suitable for developers who are just starting to integrate with the Toss Securities Open API, to quickly understand the structure of endpoints, authentication, order placement, and market data APIs, and can generate code with the help of AI agents.

Main capabilities: After connecting to an MCP client, agents can: explore all endpoints and categories of the Toss Securities Open API; view request/response schemas and examples; search endpoints and data models by keyword; use use-case-centric integration guides covering authentication, market data and instruments, market indicators, rankings, capital flows, accounts and assets, orders, and conditional orders; generate curl / TypeScript / Python request code examples. The embedded specification version is v1.2.17, containing 13 categories, 36 endpoints, and 90 data models.

Usage: This server communicates via stdio. The runtime environment requires Node.js 18+, and it can be run directly via npx -y tossinvest-openapi-mcp. You can also use GitHub commands to directly clone, build, and run the repository to get the latest source code. Paste the configuration block corresponding to the chosen execution command into the MCP client configuration. MCP-supporting clients include Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, and others. Configuration locations: For Claude Desktop, it is ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on macOS or %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.j on Windowsson; for Claude Code, it is .mcp.json in the project, or run claude mcp add tossinvest-openapi -- npx -y tossinvest-openapi-mcp; for Codex CLI, it is ~/.codex/config.toml (in TOML format); for Cursor, it is ~/.cursor/mcp.json. After modifying the configuration, restart the client, and the relevant tools will be exposed to the agent. The Toss Securities OpenAPI documentation is located at openapi.json in the repository root and is packaged with the release package; to update the specification, replace that file and rebuild.

Use cases: Suitable for documentation queries about the Toss Securities Open API, endpoint and data model retrieval, learning integration guides, and generating request example code with the help of AI agents.

Limitations: This tool is an unofficial tool that describes the public Toss Securities OpenAPI documentation. It does not perform real trade execution, does not access accounts, and does not transmit authentication information. Before applying it in a formal production environment, it must be verified through the official Toss Securities Open API documentation. Apart from the above, other details are not provided for now.
