YaniFend MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for YaniFend feedback questionnaires. It enables LLM clients to interact with the YaniFend backend on behalf of a logged-in site owner, completing operations such as listing personages, managing questionnaire questions, and pulling collected answers in chat.
Purpose YaniFend is a directly embeddable feedback component that allows visitors to leave structured feedback on any website—just one script tag, no framework required (supports custom sites, SPAs, WordPress, etc.). This MCP server is the LLM-native way to manage a YaniFend instance, letting AI clients operate questionnaires and answers without leaving the conversation.
Main capabilities The server provides 33 tools, covering categories such as Personages & integration, Questionary authoring, Answers & hosted forms, and Notifications (hosted endpoint and authenticated proxy only), and also includes set_character / get_character (personage appearance), update_widget_style, and delete_personage. All tools are scoped to the authenticated YaniFend account and can only view and edit data for your own site. It can also provide reusable starting points for MCP clients to use.
Usage The hosted endpoint is recommended, using Streamable HTTP transport and OAuth 2.1 (PKCE + RFC 7591 dynamic client registration). No pre-registration is required—Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok register themselves on first connection, then prompt you to log in to YaniFend (supports Google / GitHub / Facebook / LinkedIn / email).
Claude (claude.ai and the Claude app): Add a custom connector with the URL https://app.yanifend.com/mcp，免费个人计划即可使用。
ChatGPT: Open Settings → Security and login, turn on Developer mode; open Plugins, click +, select Create app → Create MCP App; name it YaniFend, set the Server URL to https://app.yanifend.com/mcp，认证选择 OAuth; ChatGPT will find the login settings on its own, keep the advanced settings as default; check the confirmation and click Create; click Sign in with YaniFend and log in as usual, then approve the request; return to Plugins, open YaniFend, and click Refresh to load its tools.
Grok: Open Plugins → New Connector → Custom; name it YaniFend, set the Server URL to https://app.yanifend.com/mcp，点击 Add Connector, no other input is needed, Grok will register itself; open the YaniFend login page in your browser, log in as usual, and approve the request; start a new conversation and you can ask about form-related operations.
Alternative: desktop extension / local stdio proxy (this repository). This repository provides a stdio MCP server that proxies to the hosted endpoint. Configure the account email and password through the desktop extension settings or the YANIFEND_EMAIL / YANIFEND_PASSWORD environment variables, and it will log in over HTTPS and forward each tool call to https://app.yanifend.com/mcp——同样 33 tools, same schema and annotations, strictly limited to your own account. When credentials are not provided, it still provides the tool catalog for registry introspection and returns a configuration prompt on any invocation. This is a different login path from the hosted connector described above: it uses the YaniFend email and password rather than the connector's OAuth login, so the supported client instructions above do not apply to it. As a Claude Desktop extension: install the .mcpb package (built with npx @anthropic-ai/mcpb pack), then enter the YaniFend email and password in the extension settings. The password is stored by Claude Desktop's operating system keychain and is sent only to app.yanifend.com.
When to use Suitable for site owners using YaniFend (HR / recruiting / SaaS / e-commerce, self-hosted or WordPress) to manage feedback surveys and view answers through Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok.
Limitations MCP clients whose login callback goes to a localhost address, such as Claude Code and Cursor, are currently not supported; their login callbacks are rejected and the connection cannot be completed. Other assistants have not yet been tested. For now, please use Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok. The hosted connector and the local agent are two different login paths.

Use and storage: credentials are stored locally by Claude Desktop (operating system keychain) and are used only to obtain short-lived access tokens from app.yanifend.com over HTTPS; tool calls and results are transmitted directly between your machine and the YaniFend API, and the extension keeps no database and does not log your data. Third-party sharing: nothing is sent to any party other than YaniFend (app.yanifend.com); no analytics, no trackers. Data retention: the extension itself retains nothing except the in-memory session token (discarded on exit); feedback data is stored in your YaniFend account and is subject to the retention terms of the YaniFend privacy policy, and deleting your account cascades to delete all data.
