About this tool

Promethean AI is an AI brain trust and assistant for creative teams, with the goal of helping professional teams build virtual worlds and digital art assets more efficiently. It is described as an AI engine that understands all of a team's creative assets (images, videos, 3D models, 3D animations, PDFs, PPTs), can reason about these assets, and configure them in novel combinations to assist content creation. Officially, it is positioned as a brain trust for team creative decision-making and inspiration, where users can ask questions in natural language and get relevant assets and references when needed.

In terms of use, Promethean AI focuses on World Building and digital art production. Officially, it is said to increase digital art production efficiency by 10x, and by handling tedious tasks, it lets teams focus their energy on aesthetics and story. It is aimed at creative teams, especially in industries such as games, film and animation, and architectural visualization.

Main capabilities include: understanding multiple creative assets and reasoning about them; configuring assets into novel combinations; providing an Inspiration mode for storing reference and inspiration files for consulting on design questions; providing a Source File mode that can drag and drop 3D asset folders and sync them, with the library automatically updating after team members modify the folder, so as to provide the most relevant assets; supporting the use of these assets in 3D projects to build assets and worlds; and being able to bring in 3D/material assets from Unreal/Unity to create real-time 3D scenes.

In terms of usage, the official emphasis is that there is no need to upload assets to the cloud, and the team will not touch, store, or train on users' asset files; there is no need to change the existing 3D editor or the entire pipeline, as Promethean overlays on existing workflows for rapid integration. The enterprise edition can be customized with a small amount of Python code to adapt to custom or proprietary workflows. Project sharing is done by sharing folders (even Dropbox) or a MySQL server/S3 storage to share the Promethean AI metadata database, while assets remain in place. Optionally, users can request Promethean AI to assist with managing asset storage and uploads.

In terms of integration and platforms, it mainly integrates with Unreal Engine; it provides open-source plugins for the Unreal, Unity, 3ds Max, Maya, and Blender editors, but not all other editor versions have been tested/may be compatible; if unsupported, users can download the plugin code and customize it themselves. Officially, it says it is working to formalize all 3D editor pipelines.

Applicable scenarios include assetand outsourcing, games, film and animation, architectural visualization, etc. Officially, it is said to have 10,000+ users, including PlayStation Studios, and to be supported by Disney Accelerator. Enterprise-level features include data security, SSO, API, and workflow customization, are scalable and technical-artist friendly, and are suitable for fully custom and proprietary pipelines.

In terms of limitations, it is officially made clear that its tools require input and involvement from the artist at every step, and are not designed for prompt artists, but rather for professional artists who want to leverage advanced AI technology.
