About this tool

Purpose

CapsuleCRM MCP Server connects Claude directly to a CapsuleCRM account, enabling users to perform customer and sales management using natural language. Users can interact with the CRM in plain English, such as "show all VIP customers from last month," and perform operations such as search, filter, query, create, and update.

Key Capabilities

  • Customer management (Parties): view, create, and update individuals and organizations; search by name, email, phone, and address; filter by tags, location, and contact information.
  • Sales pipeline (Opportunities): track deals and their stage progression; automatically calculate probability-weighted value; comprehensive filtering and search; revenue insights and reporting.
  • Task management: create, view, and update tasks; filter by status, assignee, and due date; associate tasks with customers and deals.
  • Pipeline configuration: view all pipeline milestones; track the progression of opportunities through each stage.
  • Search operators: contains (partial match), starts with / ends with (prefix/suffix match), is after / is before (date comparison), is greater than / is less than (numeric filtering), is within last (recent time period).
  • Advanced filtering: can ask complex questions, such as "find sales opportunities with an amount over $50,000 and in the proposal stage," "show customers added in the past 30 days and tagged with hot-lead," "list all overdue tasks assigned to my team."
  • Usage examples: customer management such as "find all VIP customers in New York," "show customers we haven't contacted in 30 days," "create a new contact: John Smith, john@acme.com"; sales pipeline such as "what is the total value of our open opportunities?", "show deals closed this quarter," "create a new opportunity worth $25,000 for Acme Corp"; task management such as "which tasks are overdue?", "show all tasks assigned to Sarah," "create a follow-up task for next Friday."

How to Use

  • Claude Desktop: download the capsulecrm-mcp.dxt file, double-click to install it in Claude Desktop, enter the CapsuleCRM API key when prompted, and then you can use natural language CRM commands.
  • Command line (uvx): run the server via stdio without .dxt, for example for an MCP hub. Can pin a tag or commit: uvx --from . capsulecrm-mcp. If there is no CAPSULECRM_ACCESS_TOKEN, the server will exit with code 1.
  • Get an API key: log in to the CapsuleCRM dashboard, go to Account Settings → API, generate a new API token, copy and store it securely (it will not be shown again).
  • Debug mode: set the environment variable LOG_LEVEL=DEBUG to get detailed logs.

Suitable Scenarios

Suitable for users who need to quickly query and manage customers, sales opportunities, and tasks in CapsuleCRM, especially in scenarios where they want to complete CRM operations through natural language conversation and reduce manual clicking.

Limitations and Security

  • Uses the official CapsuleCRM API and secure token authentication; does not store data and only acts as a real-time bridge; securely stores tokens via environment variables; read and write permissions are consistent with those configured in CapsuleCRM.
  • Troubleshooting: if the extension fails to start, verify that the API key is correct, check the network connection to CapsuleCRM, and ensure Python 3.11+ is installed; for "No module found" errors, dependencies are bundled in the extension, so try reinstalling the extension; verify the API key permissions in CapsuleCRM; check whether the rate limit has been exceeded.
