flash-props-mcp is the MCP server for the Flash Props API, developed by Flash AI Solutions, serving as the public connector and metadata interface for the hosted Flash Props API and MCP service. This repository has no proprietary Flash Props backend server to install; users need to point their client at the hosted endpoint and authenticate with a Flash Props API key to obtain market data.
Primary purpose Player props queries for sports and esports, providing published markets, Flash predictions, evidence, context, and line movement, unified into American odds, covering pre-match and live. Can be used in Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client.
Main capabilities The MCP endpoint provides the following tools:
- list_sports: Lists all sports, including live status, data freshness, prediction/context capabilities.
- get_market_metadata: Market labels, categories, scope, and whether the market is modeled.
- list_games: Games with props in a sport.
- get_game_props: All player props for a game.
- scan_props: Market-level prop scan across the full schedule.
- find_game: Resolves a team name to an event id.
- find_player_props: All active props for a player.
- get_player_context: Season baseline, recent form, and deeper context.
- get_prop_evidence: Sportsbook line, Flash line, gap, status, confidence, disagreement, movement.
- get_prop_history: Chronological line and odds history for a prop.
- scan_movers: Items with the largest line movement in a specified time window.
- get_leaders: Leaderboards ranked by gap, status, and sample strength. REST and MCP share the same entitlement shaping; the same key sees the same product tier across different transports.
How to use
- Free API key:https://api.flashodds.live/billing/free
- MCP endpoint:https://api.flashodds.live/mcp,在 Send the API key in the Authorization header. Anonymous access can be used for capability discovery (list_sports, get_market_metadata); obtaining market data requires at least a free key.
- Add it to the configuration in claude_desktop_config.json.
- REST API quick trial (Node 20+): Put the key into the local FLASH_PROPS_API_KEY environment variable, run node examples/first-request.mjs or node examples/first-request.mjs nfl. The script checks 401, 403, and 429, does not leak the key, and does not silently retry.
- You can also use the Postman workspace for graphical exploration; start with the Postman quickstart, create a free key, then run the requests in the Start here folder. Do not paste the key into GitHub, URLs, shared collection variables, or screenshots.
Use cases
- Query sports and esports player data in MCP clients such as Claude and Cursor.
- Integrate sports data via the REST API.
- Scenarios requiring market lines, Flash predictions, odds history, and line movement analysis.
Limitations and notes
- Coverage is provider-driven; do not hardcode the list of sports with Flash predictions. Use list_sports or GET /api/v1/sports to check projectionCapability, effectiveProjection, and contextCapability, then use get_market_metadata to determine whether a specific market is modeled. Some modeled sports may provide Flash predictions for one statistic while only having published markets for another statistic.
- Missing analysis is reported explicitly; Flash Props does not fabricate predictions for unsupported markets.
- Check the basis of each prediction. current_season is based on the current season; prior_season is the previous season baseline and must not be presented as current form; basisNote and seasonId indicate which season it comes from.
- Use snapshotId to determine whether numbers describe the same market. Equal snapshotId values in the sports, games, and props responses mean the counts and rows come from the same logical market. Mixed consistency values indicate the response is partial; do not compare its counts with the rows of another snapshot.
- Tier limits: Free: $0, 300 requests/day, 10 requests/minute, 15 row scans, evidence preview, basic context, no history, no movement, top 3 leaderboard; Builder (internal id starter): $19/month, 25,000 requests/day, 120 requests/minute, 100 row scans, basic evidence, basic context, limited history, limited movement, top 10 leaderboard; Pro: $49/month, 150,000 requests/day, 600 requests/minute, 3,000 row scans, full evidence, full context, full history, full movement, top 100 leaderboard; Enterprise: custom limits. See the current pricing and REST reference at https://api.flashodds.live/。
- Data is for informational purposes only. Flash Props is not a sportsbook and is not affiliated with any league, team, player, sportsbook, or DFS operator.
