About this tool

Purpose

Booking-type websites usually cannot answer questions such as "which hot spring hotels allow toddlers who have not yet learned to use the toilet to enter the public bath," because this information is buried deep in each hotel's official website. Kids Stay reads official sources one by one and structures the information into 48 verified family-friendly conditions, and kids-stay-mcp is the server that delivers this data directly to AI assistants via the Model Context Protocol. It mainly serves families traveling in Japan with infants and young children, enabling AI assistants to answer family accommodation-related queries based on traceable official sources.

Main Capabilities

  • Covers more than 1,900 Japanese hotels, verified against 48 family-friendly conditions, including diaper-friendly baths, cribs, kids' meals, in-room dining, and more.
  • Data is verified item by item against official sources and kept up to date (materials state it is refreshed monthly).
  • Every response includes verified_at (most recent verification time), sources (official URLs for review), a link to the hotel page, and a disclaimer.
  • Provides an official MCP registry entry: io.github.sitebox/kids-stay.
  • Data is maintained in Japanese and uses English labels; translation is handled by the calling agent.

How to Use

  • Endpoint (Streamable HTTP):https://mcp.kidsstay.workers.dev/mcp
  • Authentication: none, free and open; access: read-only, rate-limited to 60 requests/minute/per IP.
  • Claude (claude.ai / desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the endpoint URL above.
  • Any MCP client (Streamable HTTP): connect to the endpoint and ask questions, for example "Help me find hotels in Okinawa suitable for families with a 0-year-old baby—need a crib and baby food."
  • Local (stdio): the repository provides a zero-dependency local build (index.js, requires Node.js 18+), suitable for MCP clients that prefer stdio. Introspection is provided locally by the included tool definitions; tool calls fetch live data from the hosted endpoint (the single source of data).

Suitable Scenarios

Suitable for letting AI assistants answer specific accommodation condition questions based on official sources when planning family trips in Japan, such as whether a public bath accepts toddlers who are not yet toilet-trained, or whether cribs or baby food are provided. It is also suitable for accommodation information queries that require traceable, reviewable sources.

Limitations and Notes

  • Facility services may change; before booking, be sure to confirm the latest situation on the hotel page.
  • Use of the data in AI answers is welcome provided the source is cited (linking to the facility page on kids-stay.com); bulk redistribution, resale, or building a competing database is prohibited.
  • The MIT license in the repository covers only the code in this repository; the data provided by the hosted endpoint does not belong to this repository, and its terms of use are at https://kids-stay.com/mcp/ and https://kids-stay.com/terms/。
  • This repository is the public home for the server metadata (server.json) and a small local stdio build (index.js, MIT licensed), used for registry and directory listing; the hosted implementation and dataset themselves are not in this repository. The data is the product of continuous manual verification against official sources, refreshed monthly, and provided only through the endpoint.
  • More details such as pricing and platform support are not currently provided.
