Purpose
AllMCPs.com official local MCP server and CLI, for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server directory. Users can directly complete searching, browsing, obtaining installation configurations, and submitting MCP servers in any MCP-compatible agent such as Claude, Cursor, or by using ordinary shell scripts.
Main capabilities
- Search and browse the AllMCPs.com MCP server directory.
- Obtain installation configurations for MCP servers.
- Submit MCP servers (submit_mcp_server, formerly named submit_mcp).
- This package is a lightweight stdio bridge pointing to the AllMCPs remote MCP endpoint. Tool behavior executes on the server side, so it always exposes the current live toolset; adding or changing tools does not require upgrading this package.
- v2.0.0 replaces the single submit_mcp tool with a complete toolset, in which submit_mcp is renamed to submit_mcp_server; if you depend on the old tool name, you must pin allmcps-server@1.
- The complete input schema for each tool (including optional parameters such as category, description, sku, and method) can be obtained at runtime through a standard MCP tools/list call, or viewed directly at /api/mcp.
Usage
Requires Node.js 18+. Can be added to an MCP client configuration, such as claude_desktop_config.json.
When run with a subcommand (rather than directly with npx allmcps-server), it becomes a scriptable CLI based on the public REST API, without needing an MCP client. Each subcommand outputs JSON to stdout, so it can be combined with jq and other Unix tools. Without a subcommand, it runs as an MCP stdio server according to the default npx allmcps-server behavior.
Submission note: submit_mcp_server submissions enter the review queue at allmcps.com. The response includes claim_url and a directly pasteable badge_markdown snippet—add the badge to the repository README toinstantly verify the entry without waiting for manual review.
