BulkPublish API is a free social media API built for automation, AI agents, and LLMs, enabling programmatic publishing to 15 platforms with a single API call. It emphasizes a headless design: no browser, no UI, and no OAuth pop-ups at runtime; accounts only need to be connected once in the dashboard, after which everything is automated through the API.
Main capabilities
- Platform coverage: Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Discord, Telegram, Tumblr, Snapchat, 15 platforms in total.
- Scheduling: Supports scheduling posts for any future time, supports time zones, and can also let queue time slots choose the best time; supports daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly recurring schedules.
- Media upload: Supports images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF) and videos (MP4, MOV, WebM), up to 100 MB.
- Analytics and link tracking: Tracks impressions, likes, comments, shares, and engagement; each platform reports a different subset of metrics, and responses indicate supportedMetrics / supportedTotals. Link tracking can be enabled per organization or per post (linkTrackingOverride), rewriting links through bulkpubli.sh and counting clicks, reported as linkClicks / totalLinkClicks.
- Organization features: Color labels, hashtag groups, templates, review links (people without an account can view posts read-only), calendar notes (pin events, holidays, and reminders to calendar days), bulk operations (delete or retry multiple posts in a single request).
- Post formats: Threads multi-part threads (X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon), automatic first comment after publishing, all post types (Reels, Stories, Carousels, Threads, Shorts, Video, configurable per platform via postTypeOverrides), platform-specific content and options (such as Instagram collaborators, TikTok privacy, YouTube category, Pinterest board).
AI agent integration
- MCP server (for Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code): a local (stdio) server with 79 tools, including create_post, list_channels, upload_media, get_analytics, and the interactive compose_post editor (MCP Apps), among others. Hosted server https://mcp.bulkpublish.com/mcp(OAuth 2.1) Provides 20 core tool configurations: channels, posts, media, analytics, and interactive panels. The 27-tool inbox configuration adds reading and replying to direct messages, comments, and reviews. See mcp-server/README.md for details.
- Social content skills: Includes a library of 24 skills for AI agents to plan, adapt, review, schedule, and publish social content.
- LLM tool use / function calling: Provides ready-made tool definitions for autonomous AI agents, including Claude tool_use examples (Anthropic SDK), OpenAI function calling examples (GPT-4), and LangChain tool examples, all complete runnable scripts with error handling.
How to use
- Create a free account at app.bulkpublish.com.
- Create an API key in the dashboard under Settings > Developer. The key starts with bp_ and is shown only once.
- Connect social accounts under Channels in the dashboard. The API uses connected channels to publish.
- Install the SDK (Python and Node SDKs are supported via Homebrew), or call the REST API directly with any HTTP client such as curl, fetch, or requests.
- Make your first API call. Official complete interactive API documentation (app.bulkpublish.com/docs) and an OpenAPI specification are provided.
Use cases
- AI social media management: Let Claude, GPT, or a custom agent autonomously schedule and publish posts.
- Content pipelines: Automation from RSS to social, blog to social, and email newsletter to social.
- Bulk scheduling: Upload a CSV or enter a content calendar to schedule weeks of posts programmatically.
- Cross-platform sync: Publish to all platforms at once and optimize content per platform.
- Analytics dashboards: Pull engagement data into your own tools, spreadsheets, or AI analysis.
- Zapier/n8n/Make alternative: Direct API access, no middleware, lower latency, and greater control.
- LLM-driven content creation: Generate content with AI, publish with BulkPublish, track performance, and iterate.
Limits and pricing
- Rate limits: The documentation provides burst limits, daily quotas, and best practices; in the reference table, repeated scheduling is 10 at one tier and Unlimited at another; see the official rate limit guide for the specific tiers.
- Platform differences: Each platform reports a different subset of metrics, which will be indicated in the response; 0 does not mean unmeasured.
- Content limits: Media files are up to 100 MB; see above for supported formats.
- Authentication and keys: Uses API key authentication; the key is shown only once and must be stored securely.
- Specific fees and pricing information are not currently provided in the supplied materials.
