Purpose
Seedream 5.0 is an independent third-party AI image workspace whose core purpose is to turn detailed text prompts or reference images into visual assets that can be used directly in commercial scenarios. It is aimed at e-commerce, marketing, and creative teams as well as developers, helping them generate and edit product images, advertising concept images, posters, infographics, illustrations, social media images, and more.
Main Capabilities
- AI image generation: Generate product visuals, posters, illustrations, infographics, and photorealistic images from text.
- Reference-image creation: Use one or more reference images to guide subject, composition, color scheme, style, and visual details.
- Precise image editing: Where the model supports it, replace subjects, adjust backgrounds, modify text, change lighting, and transfer styles.
- Lite and Pro model selection: Lite is suited for efficient everyday generation and editing; Pro is aimed at more demanding professional production, dense information layouts, interactive editing, photorealistic effects, and multilingual creation.
- API integration: Integrate image generation into applications, SaaS products, internal tools, and repeatable visual content workflows through the existing task API.
- Credits and trial: New users can receive limited free or task credits, and credits are consumed according to the selected model and settings.
How to Use
The workflow includes: selecting the Lite or Pro model; entering a text prompt or uploading one or more reference images; submitting a generation task; checking queued, running, succeeded, or failed status in the task status; performing supported edits on the results; and also creating generation tasks, monitoring status, and managing credit usage through the API. API requests require creating a key in the dashboard and sending it in each request via Authorization: Bearer; generation tasks are initiated through /api/ai-studio/execute, requiring a supported modelId and payload; task status is read by polling the task endpoint, which returns statuses such as queued, running, succeeded, or failed. API tasks share the account credit balance and model pricing rules.
Use Cases
- Social media creatives: Produce channel-ready post images, campaign concepts, thumbnails, and visual variants.
- Marketing campaigns: Create ad concepts, campaign posters, launch images, and assets for multi-directional creative testing.
- Developer integration: Add Seedream image generation tasks to SaaS products, automation, and internal tools.
- Design and content creation: Use reference images and targeted editing to shorten concept exploration and revision cycles.
- E-commerce product visuals: Create product main images, listing images, promotional banners, and seasonal scene variations.
- Small business production: Build everyday visual content without needing a full in-house design team.
Limitations and notes
- The platform explicitly states that it is an independent third party and has no affiliation with or endorsement from ByteDance or the Seedream team.
- The available fields and costs for generation tasks depend on the selected model; editing capabilities are subject to support by the specific model.
- Free use is not unlimited, and each task consumes credits according to the selected model and settings.
- Commercial use depends on the selected plan, the current terms of service, applicable model rules, and the user's rights to prompts and reference materials.
- When generation fails, credit restoration or refunds follow the current credit and refund policy and apply only to verified platform-side failures.
- The retained demo materials displayed on the page are for creative reference only and do not mean that all displayed materials were generated by Seedream 5.0.
