Purpose
5 Letter Words is a five-letter word finder and solving tool designed specifically for the Wordle game. When you play Wordle, you can enter information based on the color clues you have already guessed (green, yellow, gray), and the tool will immediately filter out words that do not meet the conditions and display the remaining candidate answers, sorted by best guess, to help you find the correct answer faster.
Main Capabilities
- Real-time filtering: After you enter green, yellow, and gray letter clues, the candidate list updates automatically as you type.
- Distinguish answer set from guess set: Wordle accepts 12,972 five-letter words as guesses, but the answers usually come from a daily word list of about 2,383 words. The tool prioritizes these answer candidates, while also keeping rare words below for you to test new letters.
- Smart sorting: Among the remaining answer candidates, the word at the top is the one that shares the most letters with the other remaining answers, so no matter which color you guess, you get the most information.
- Historical answer marking: Words that have already appeared as answers are shown in gray and labeled with their answer number. Wordle has already repeated 27 answers, so these words have not been excluded.
- Quick entry points: If there is only one clue (for example, one green or yellow letter), you can search faster through the letter pages, including pages for words starting with a green letter, ending letters, yellow letters, double-letter words, and the strategy guide.
- Best first guess suggestions: Provides a ranking of the best starting words, such as IRATE, ALERT, ALTER, LATER, and others, which test the most common letters in the answer list.
How to Use
- Make your first guess in Wordle. If you need a suggestion, try IRATE or another strong opening word.
- Enter each green letter in the corresponding position in the green row.
- Enter each yellow letter below the position where it turned yellow. If the same letter turns yellow in two positions, enter it in both positions.
- Enter all gray letters in the gray boxes; order does not matter.
- Choose a word from the top of the list as your next guess, then enter the newly appearing colors and repeat the steps above.
The tool removes all words that violate the clues and ranks the remaining words according to how much each word can narrow down the remaining answers.

- Answers that have already been used will still appear in the results and are shown in gray; users need to judge their reliability themselves.
- The tool only supports five-letter words and the Wordle game, and is not applicable to word games of other lengths.
