Gondola is a travel MCP server and Claude Code plugin whose core feature is displaying cash prices and points (award) prices side by side, helping determine when redeeming points is more worthwhile than paying cash. It covers hotels, flights, and car rentals, across major hotel chains and loyalty programs, rather than being limited to award flights.
Main capabilities:
- Cash vs. award comparison: every search displays both cash prices and points prices, and gives the value per point (cents/point), directly answering "is this redemption worth it."
- Coverage: not limited to a single airline or a single OTA, covering major chains and programs.
- Multi-category search: hotels, flights, car rentals, as well as activities, loyalty, and analytics tools. There are 36 tools in total officially.
- Checkout and booking: hotels and car rentals can obtain links pointing to exact prices via get_booking_link and get_vehicle_booking_link, completing the booking on the web page. Flight search is for discovery purposes only, and flights currently cannot be booked through Gondola.
- Price alerts, price prediction, loyalty balances and free night certificates, and traveler profile (get_traveler_context) reading.
- No API key required: log in through the client using standard OAuth, with no need to copy or rotate keys.
How to use:
- Endpoint:https://mcp.gondola.ai/mcp/auth (Streamable HTTP).
- Authentication: every tool uses a Gondola account. When connecting, the client completes login via standard MCP OAuth 2.1 and dynamic client registration. A Gondola account is free and requires no API key.
- In Claude: open Settings > Connectors, find Gondola, select Connect, and log in as prompted.
- In Claude Code, a plugin can be installed, adding the Gondola MCP server and slash commands (/hotel-points, /award-flights, /worth-it, /optimize-points). On first connection, OAuth opens gondola.ai for login.
- Other clients (Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT) all natively support remote Streamable HTTP and will prompt for login when connecting; some client configuration files have requirements for field names (e.g., Windsurf uses serverUrl, Gemini uses httpUrl, VS Code uses top-level servers).
- Ask questions in natural language or use the slash commands installed by the plugin.
Use cases:
- Points and miles users comparing cash prices and points prices for hotels, flights, and car rentals.
- Determining whether a given redemption is worthwhile (value per point).
- Managing loyalty balances, free night certificates, and price alerts.
- Obtaining checkout links for hotels and car rentals directly through an AI client.
Limitations and notes:
- Flight search is for discovery purposes only; booking flights through Gondola is not currently supported.
- A small number of partner booking tools will charge a saved payment method and require the mcp:book permission, which is granted only to onboarded booking partners; dynamically registered clients do not receive this permission, so these tools are neither listed nor callable in ordinary connections. For partner access, email support@gondola.ai.
- The traveler profile is saved by Gondola Concierge or written manually; connected assistants only read it and do not write to it; it can be viewed, edited, or cleared in the Traveler Profile panel at gondola.ai/concierge.
- The project uses the MIT license.
