About this tool

izTolkMcp (repository name izTolkMcp, server name iz-tolk-mcp) is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that integrates the Tolk smart contract compiler directly into AI assistants, allowing developers to write, compile, check, and deploy TON blockchain contracts without leaving the conversation, forming a smooth "write—compile—deploy" workflow.

Purpose The server is aimed at Tolk smart contract developers on the TON blockchain and users of AI assistants, with the goal of embedding Tolk compilation capabilities into the AI assistant environment to assist with the entire contract development process. Tolk is described as the next-generation smart contract language for the TON blockchain, a modern successor to FunC, with familiar C/TypeScript-like syntax, type safety, and clearer semantics. MCP is an open standard that enables AI assistants to use external tools, access data sources, and follow guided workflows, thereby becoming a usable development environment.

Main capabilities The server communicates via stdio and is started by the MCP client. It exposes the following tools and resources:

  • get_compiler_version: returns the version of the Tolk compiler (WASM) built into @ton/tolk-js.
  • Compilation tool: compiles Tolk smart contract source code, returning Fift output, base64-encoded BoC (Bag of Cells), code hash, and compiler version.
  • check_tolk_syntax: checks Tolk source code for syntax and type errors, but does not return the full compilation output, to speed up the feedback loop during iterative development.
  • generate_deploy_link: generates a TON deployment deep link for a compiled contract; computes the deterministic contract address and returns usable ton:// and Tonkeeper links for wallet deployment.
  • Resources: including write_smart_contract (a guided workflow for writing new Tolk smart contracts, injecting language references and relevant example contracts into the conversation context), review_smart_contract (security-focused contract review, checking access control, message handling, integer overflow, gas management, storage integrity, and TON-specific vulnerabilities), debug_compilation_error (diagnoses and fixes Tolk compilation errors, analyzing errors against the language referenceand providing corrected code).

Usage When using npx, no installation is required; the MCP client will automatically start the server, and it only needs to be added to the configuration. Node.js >= 18 is required. Configuration locations include: claude_desktop_config.json, .cursor/mcp.json, ~/.windsurf/mcp.json, .vscode/mcp.json. After configuration is complete, it can be used through natural language interaction in the AI assistant, for example, pasting code after "Compile this Tolk smart contract:", asking the assistant to write a simple counter contract from scratch, pasting code to request a security review, pasting an error and code to debug a compilation error, or generating a deployment link for a just-compiled contract.

Use cases Suitable for scenarios involving developing TON blockchain Tolk smart contracts in AI assistant conversations, including writing new contracts, compilation and syntax checking, iterative debugging, security review, and generating wallet-usable deployment links for compiled contracts.

Limitations The material does not describe any runtime restrictions other than Node.js >= 18, pricing methods, platform compatibility details, or specific performance promises; nor does it provide more steps beyond the complete installation command.
