Proxae is a proof-of-existence tool based on the Bitcoin blockchain, whose core purpose is to prove that a user already possessed specific text, ideas, or files at a certain point in time, i.e., to establish "prior existence."
Main capabilities:
- Timestamp certification: stamps text, ideas, or files with a Bitcoin blockchain timestamp, providing permanently and independently verifiable proof without needing to trust any central authority.
- File upload: supports drag-and-drop file certification, accepts all file types, with a maximum of 50 MB per file.
- Text certification: text must first be saved as a file (such as .txt, .pdf, etc.) before being uploaded for certification.
- Webpage capture: the webpage capture feature requires registering an account; registration is free.
- Privacy protection: user content never leaves the browser; only the content fingerprint is sent to the network.
- Free to use: the certification process requires no registration, is free, and has no usage limit.
- Proof files: generates OpenTimestamps receipts, which serve as tamper-proof proof permanently anchored on the Bitcoin blockchain; the Pro version provides an eIDAS-compliant PDF certificate.
- Verification method: proofs can be found through the Proxae dashboard or a public verification link; proofs can be submitted to a lawyer, the opposing party, or directly to a court.
How to use:
- Open the Proxae website and drag and drop the file into the designated area (or first save the text to be certified as a file and then upload it).
- The content remains in the local browser; only the fingerprint is sent.
- The system anchors the proof on the Bitcoin blockchain, completing certification within about 30 seconds.
- Obtain the OpenTimestamps receipt; if an eIDAS-qualified PDF certificate is needed, the Pro version can be used.
- Later, the proof can be retrieved through the dashboard or a public verification link.
Applicable scenarios:
- Designers, developers, authors, and other creators establish evidence of prior existence for works or ideas, for example to prevent others from claiming ownership first.
- Situations where proof of prior use or originality needs to be submitted to a lawyer, the opposing party, or a court.
- As a supplement to official prior-technique proof methods such as the Soleau envelope, INPI's e-Soleau, bailiff reports, and INPI filings, for routine daily proof of existence.
Limitations:
- Proxae only establishes prior existence; it does not grant exclusive rights, nor does it replace notarization or legal advice.
- The webpage capture feature requires registering an account.
- Text certification requires first saving the text as a file.
- The file size limit is 50 MB.
- Regarding specific facts such as Pro version pricing, price, and platform support, the materials do not currently provide them.
