About this tool

MCP Server Boilerplate is a production-grade starter template for building Model Context Protocol servers, supporting both TypeScript and Python. Its goal is to help developers skip repetitive boilerplate code and start directly building tools that AI agents can actually call.

  1. Main Purpose This project is used to quickly set up an MCP server so that AI agents can use developer-defined capabilities such as tools and resources through a standard protocol.

  2. Server Capabilities The template already includes usable examples of the three MCP primitives (tools, resources, prompts). However, the free starter template itself does not register any prompt templates; the prompt template pattern is included in the full kit.

  3. What the Free Version Includes

  • TypeScript quick start
  • Python quick start
  • Claude Desktop configuration
  • Project structure explanation

  2. Limitations The free version does not register prompt templates and only provides a basic quick start; more complete features (Docker, CI/CD, SSE, 15+ tool examples, testing framework, etc.) require purchasing the paidkit. Other specific runtime environment requirements, dependency versions, detailed installation steps, and similar information are not currently provided in the materials.
