About this tool

Parakeet AI is an AI assistant for real-time conversation scenarios, positioned as a "real-time AI interview assistant" that helps users get the right answers while they are still speaking in interviews, sales calls, customer meetings, or any conversation where they "can't afford to get stuck."

Purpose Parakeet AI is mainly used in scenarios that require real-time responses to questions, such as job interviews, sales calls, customer meetings, internal meetings, mock calls, language practice, and self-study. It also explicitly states that it can be used for online exams, and emphasizes that it is "built for conversations where AI assistance is allowed"; users must first confirm the rules of their company, school, or the other party on the call, and should comply if the other party prohibits it. The product also says it responds to blocking requests from employers, and domains or recruiting processes can be sent to compliance@parakeet-ai.com to be blacklisted.

Key capabilities

  • Real-time answers and support: detects questions during a call and suggests answers in real time, so you do not get stumped.
  • Full coding support: suitable for technical calls, able to listen to programming questions, read code shared on screen, and discuss solution approaches with the user during the call, providing code suggestions and explanations.
  • Fast transcription: uses advanced transcription models to provide high accuracy and fast response.
  • High-accuracy answers: chooses among multiple top LLMs to provide more accurate answers.
  • Privacy and stealth: completely undetectable, belongs only to the user; remains invisible to others when sharing the screen; does not show an icon or activity indicator in the Dock; has no visible name or icon in Activity Monitor; the platform will not detect leaving when switching tabs or windows; the cursor remains unchanged when hovering, clicking, or adjusting settings.
  • Support throughout the call: can detect real-time questions and suggest answers; automatically detects when a meeting starts and asks whether to join; can upload briefs, notes, or manuals for real-time reference during the call; after the call, summarizes key points, action items, and decisions.
  • Preparation tools: mock interviews (practice verbally with an AI interviewer and review the transcript, first one free); resume building (tailors a resume for the target role); AI headshots (turns one photo into studio-quality LinkedIn and resume headshots); question bank (browse questions real candidates were asked by company, sorted by frequency of appearance).

How to use

  • Start a free 10-minute session, or buy credits for full-length calls.
  • Use it via the desktop app, browser, or mobile. The desktop app runs quietly in the background, listens to the call, and displays the best answers in real time; the browser can be accessed directly with no setup; mobile uses the same web app, adapted for iOS and Android.
  • A mode can be selected when creating a session: interview mode or regular call mode. Interview mode additionally uses the uploaded resume, while regular call mode does not.
  • The AI model can be selected from the model dropdown when creating or editing a session, including multiple Gemini, GPT, and Claude models, with a fast model selected by default. Lighter models respond faster, while larger models can give more detailed answers.
  • Instructions can be provided to Parakeet AI through the uploaded resume, added documents, and content entered in the Instructions field when creating a session, and messages can also be sent to it during the call.
  • Google Voice phone calls are supported: start a session in the browser and click the phone icon to get setup instructions.
  • The way to connect to an actual call is by sharing the call tab.

Platforms and Languages

  • 50+ languages are supported, and the language list can be viewed in the language dropdown when starting a session; only one language is listened to at a time, and if the language is switched during a call, the session language needs to be updated.
  • The desktop app supports Windows and macOS; browser use requires desktop Chrome, and Linux is also used through desktop Chrome; other browsers are not supported for live sessions; the desktop app is not affected by the default browser.
  • Native mobile apps are on their way to the App Store and Google Play, but are not yet available for download; currently, the mobile-optimized version in the browser can be used by visiting parakeet-ai.com on a phone and logging in.

Use Cases Interviews, sales calls, client meetings, internal meetings, mock calls, language practice, self-study, online exams, etc.
