LaunchReel is a Claude Code-based plugin focused on automated editing of talking-head videos. Its core purpose is to help users quickly edit recorded talking-head footage into short videos suitable for publishing, especially for product launches, weekly update content creators, or teams.
Main capabilities include: automatically transcribing videos, identifying and removing filler words, pauses, and retakes, and listening back after each cut to check quality; automatically adding subtitles and dynamic zoom effects to highlight key content; supporting starting video production directly from a code repository; users can pin comments on any frame, and Claude only fixes that specific location without reprocessing the entire video; clicking text allows direct subtitle modification. In addition, LaunchReel can write scenes as code, adapt to real products, and generate original music and voiceover. Output supports 16:9 or 9:16 ratios, up to 4K resolution.
How to use: Users start editing with a one-sentence instruction (such as "cut this recording into a 45-second reel with subtitles"), and Claude automatically completes the rough cut while the Studio interface opens for users to view and adjust in real time. Users can pin comments or edit directly in Studio, and export when satisfied. Fixing, re-rendering, or re-recording voiceover for the same project will not consume additional video quota.
Applicable scenarios: product launch videos, social media short videos (such as TikTok and Reels), team collaborative content production, and talking-head video production that requires rapid iteration.
Limitations: This tool requires Claude Code and a Node 20+ environment. Claude's work uses the user's own Claude plan, while editing operations in Studio are managed through LaunchReel's subscription plan. The free trial provides one complete video, exported at 1080p, with a small watermark and end card. Paid plans are billed by the number of videos and reset monthly. Talking-head projects retain working copies, with about 0.07 GB of storage per minute at 1080p, and LaunchReel will prompt before starting.
