agentmd-mcp is an MCP server for AI agents that converts common document formats into Markdown that is easy for language models to read. It provides three tools that can handle PDF, DOCX, HTML, and URLs, with output beginning with detected headings and warning messages.
Main capabilities: PDF supports text extraction; scanned or image-only PDFs return a warning, and OCR is on the roadmap; DOCX preserves headings, lists, and tables; HTML and URLs perform body extraction, support GFM tables, and resolve links to absolute URLs; Markdown and plain text are normalized and passed through as-is. The limit for a single document is 25 MB.
Usage: a free API key can be obtained (50 conversions, no credit card required) at https://www.getagentmd.com。支持任意 MCP client (mcp.json / claude_desktop_config.json) configuration; the Docker image runs a stdio server and requires passing -i; the API key is provided at runtime via -e rather than baked into the image; a remote hosted server can also be used, connecting directly via streamable HTTP with no installation required.
Pricing: the first 50 conversions are free (per email address, no credit card required), after which each successful conversion costs $0.002, billed monthly, with no per-seat licensing. The client shim is MIT licensed, while the hosted service has separate terms.
