About this tool

Purpose

JobVerify is used to quickly determine whether a suspicious recruiter is a real recruiter or a scam before you reply. It is aimed at users who receive suspicious remote job offers, recruitment private messages, or job links, helping identify fake recruiters and job scams.

Main Capabilities

  • Verify whether a company is a registered, real business, or whether no such company can be found at all.
  • Identify classic scam patterns, such as requiring upfront payment of fees, fake "task" work, cryptocurrency-related scams, and requests to "move communication off-platform."
  • Flag suspicious links, spoofed domains, and newly created websites disguised as official sites.
  • Check whether emails, phone numbers, and photos truly belong to the person or entity they claim to represent.
  • Explain the basis for the judgment in everyday language, giving a conclusion of "looks legitimate," "be cautious," or "almost certainly a scam," along with the reasons.
  • Does not log in to or scrape LinkedIn, only queries public information, and uses the Internet Archive to view website history in order to determine how long a profile or company page has actually existed.

How to Use

JobVerify is an MCP server for Claude, with no need to clone a repository, use a virtual environment, or install manually. Before use, you only need to install uv:

macOS / Linux: curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh

Windows: powershell -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"

Then add the configuration to claude_desktop_config.json and restart Claude to use it directly. The first run will take a few seconds to download the tools; after that it is available instantly.

When using it, paste the recruiter's message, company name, job link, or email into the AI conversation and ask "Is this offer real?" or run the built-in analyze prompt. JobVerify will automatically extract details such as the company, links, emails, phone numbers, and wallet addresses, check each item against public records, scam databases, and website history, and finally provide a brief, honest risk summary.

Use Cases

  • You receive a remote job offer claiming to be from a certain company and want to quickly verify whether it is genuine.
  • You suspect the recruiter is using stolen photos or a throwaway account.
  • You want to confirm whether an application link is safe or whether it is a spoofed website used to steal data.
  • Use it to assess risk when the other party asks for an upfront equipment fee or to move the conversation to WhatsApp, Telegram, or another platform.

Limitations

  • Does not provide API keys and does not incur costs. All data sources are free and public, including public business registries, DNS records, scam blacklists, the Internet Archive, and more.
  • No registration, no tracking; the content users paste is not stored or sold.
  • The results are probabilistic signals and may be incomplete or wrong. They are decision support, not a court ruling; they should not be regarded as a final judgment about any individual or organization.
  • The specific built-in data source list, configuration code, and complete analysis prompt content are not fully shown in the official text and are not provided for now.
  • Licensed under MIT, free to use and share.
