This repository is the plugin marketplace for Bankstatemently, used to install Bankstatemently's MCP server plugin in clients such as Claude Code, Codex, and ChatGPT. Its core purpose is to convert PDF bank statements into structured data, including transactions, accounts, and balances, and to perform reconciliation checks.
Main capabilities: convert PDF statements, list statements, check credits, and run benchmark evaluations.
Usage: after installing through the Claude Code marketplace, enable the plugin; the first tool call will open a browser for login, with no configuration items required. For headless scenarios (CI, scripts), you can skip the plugin and directly add the MCP server and pass in an API key; the key can be obtained at bankstatemently.com/developer. Codex natively supports OAuth, and a single command can detect and discover metadata and open a browser for login without storing the key; when browser login is not possible, you can use an API key via the mcp-remote bridge, and the key needs to be exported in the shell that starts Codex.
For clients that only support stdio (such as the Claude Desktop configuration file, Cursor, and headless environments) or directory scanners that start the server locally, you can clone the public repository and directly run the self-contained mcp-stdio server, without Docker or a bridge process.
Limitations and notes: the server rejects Authorization: Bearer, and the key must be passed using the X-API-Key request header. Never retrieve the key from credential managers such as Keychain or 1Password inside the MCP server command, because Codex runs that command in a sandbox during tool discovery, and credential manager queries will fail silently, causing the tools not to appear; the key should be exported in the shell that starts Codex. mcp-remote logs the resolved request header values to stderr, and keys resolved by wrappers may appear in client logs. Codex currently does not present MCP servers declared by plugins in a session, so the above plugin installation and its bundled skills are temporarily unavailable in Codex. BANKSTATEMENTLY_API_KEY is optional at startup, and initialize and tools/list can respond without network calls and without a key; calling tools/cal without a keyl will return the same authentication-required result as the hosted server.
