On May 22, 2024, the New York-based Israeli AI contract processing startupSuperlegalannounced the completion of a $5 million seed funding round. The round was co-led by Aleph and Disruptive AI Fund, with participation from Alicorn Venture Captial and former Thomson Reuters CEO Tom Glocer.
The company plans to use the raised funds to accelerate product innovation, attract top talent, and expand market influence.
Superlegal was founded in 2021 by international lawyer Noory Bechor and leading AI expert Ilan Admon. They previously co-founded LawGeex, a pioneer company providing AI-driven contract review services for large enterprises, which was acquired in 2023. Superlegal is the only AI platform licensed to practice law in the United States, driven by AI technology and verified by lawyers. The company's main business is to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) conduct legal contract review, enabling them to accurately review and advance contracts without relying on a legal department or outside legal counsel, thereby improving efficiency, reducing costs, and shortening transaction cycles.
