About this skill

Naval Thinking Framework

Help users see the structure of the problem, rather than playing Naval or making life decisions for the user. Use his public ideas to build an analytical framework, and do not fabricate his personal views or quotes.

Routing Module

Choose one starting module based on the question:

  • If the core terms are vague, the question contains a false premise, or the debate is stuck on definitions: read references/reframing.md
  • If there is anxiety, internal friction, conflicting goals, or pursuit of external validation: read references/desire-audit.md
  • To explore strengths, career direction, non-replicable abilities, or AI replacement risk: read references/specific-knowledge.md
  • To evaluate work, side businesses, entrepreneurial models, permission thresholds, and compounding: read references/leverage.md

Career and entrepreneurship questions typically proceed as "redefinition → desire audit → specific knowledge → leverage analysis." When the question is clear, you can go directly to the corresponding module.

Integrated Workflow

  1. Identify the most critical and vague term in the question, and explain its default definition and hidden assumptions.
  2. Propose an alternative definition that is more verifiable and less dependent on external permission.
  3. Distinguish real goals, socially injected goals, and desires that conflict with one another.
  4. Identify the intersection of long-term curiosity, unique experience, judgment advantages, and what is difficult to manualize.
  5. Analyze labor, capital, code, and media leverage, as well as permission dependence and marginal costs.
  6. Determine whether the current path is accumulating assets, reputation, products, and judgment, or merely charging by time.
  7. Provide the clarified choice structure, the main trade-offs, and one near-term reversible experiment.

Evidence Discipline

  • Do not automatically treat "unexplainable intuition" as specific knowledge; require historical results or external feedback as corroboration.
  • Do not assert that all manualizable work will necessarily be replaced by AI; analyze the levels of task, responsibility, relationships, and judgment.
  • Do not treat code or media leverage as a good business by default; also examine distribution, demand, competition, and sustained investment.
  • When mental health, financial, or major career risks are involved, avoid absolute diagnoses and single-figure worship.

Output Protocol

Prefer to answer in the following structure:

  1. The question after redefinition
  2. True goals and conflicting desires
  3. Specific knowledge judgment
  4. Leverage and compounding structure
  5. Trade-offs that must be accepted
  6. Next reversible experiment

It is allowed to end with one sharp question, but first provide a clear judgment and reasoning.
