About this skill

Product Strategy Analyzer

Overview

Use a strategic analysis framework to help users evaluate the feasibility, opportunity points, and commercial value of product ideas. By combiningbackward reasoning(endgame thinking) andforward reasoning(incremental evolution) for bidirectional validation, provide comprehensive product strategy analysis.

Workflow

1. Understand the product idea

First, clarify the product core:

  • Problem solved: What problem does this product solve?
  • Target users: Who will use this product?
  • Core value: What is the product's core function?

2. Search for competitor information

Use WebSearch to search for relevant information:

Search strategy:

  • Competitor search:"{产品关键词}" competitors alternatives、"{产品名称}" 类似产品
  • Market information:"{行业}" market size trends 2024 2025、"{行业}" 报告 分析
  • Cases:successful companies in {行业}、{行业} startup funding

Output a list of competitor links:

  • List of main competitors and official website links
  • Market analysis report links
  • Related case study links

3. Perform bidirectional analysis

Backward reasoning analysis (endgame thinking)

Reason back from the endgame 5-10 years later:

Step 1: Endgame projection

  • What is the ultimate form of this field?
  • Will the product still exist in the endgame?

Step 2: Backward path reasoning

  • Reason backward from the endgame to key stages
  • Identify the necessary path and key nodes

Step 3: Value transfer

  • How does value transfer during evolution?
  • What is lasting value?

Forward reasoning analysis (incremental evolution)

Reason forward from the current state to the evolution path:

Step 1: Current state assessment

  • ✅ Conditions already in place
  • ⚠️ Conditions partially in place
  • ❌ Conditions not yet in place

Step 2: Evolution roadmap

  • Phase 1 (0-6 months): MVP
  • Phase 2 (6-12 months): Iteration direction
  • Phase 3 (1-2 years): Scaling

Step 3: Rapid validation

  • MVP definition
  • Validation method
  • Trial-and-error mechanism

4. Bidirectional validation and comprehensive judgment

Cross-analysis:

  • Time window: maturity timing from backward reasoning vs execution capability from forward reasoning
  • Capability match: required capabilities vs existing capabilities
  • Opportunity assessment: high/low barriers × short/long cycles

Core judgment:

  • ✅ This is a good opportunity (reason)
  • ❌ This is not a good opportunity (reason)
  • ⚠️ This is a conditional opportunity (conditions)

5. Output strategic recommendations

  • Entry point: Where to start
  • Differentiation: How to be different
  • Moat: How to build barriers
  • Risk warning: Technology/market/competition/timing risks
  • Pivot direction: Possible transformation directions
  • Action recommendations: immediately actionable, short-term planning, long-term positioning

Example Usage

User request:

Help me analyze the feasibility of building an AI writing assistant

Execution process:

  1. Search competitors: Jasper, Copy.ai, Notion AI, etc.
  2. Backward analysis: the endgame form of AI writing (artificial general intelligence writing)
  3. Forward analysis: the evolution path from MVP to a complete product
  4. Bidirectional validation: is the timing mature? Do the capabilities match?
  5. Output strategic recommendations: entry point, differentiation, risks, etc.

User request:

Analyze the opportunities in the SaaS collaboration tools market

Execution process:

  1. Search market information: competitors such as Notion, Slack, Atlassian, etc.
  2. Market landscape analysis: existing players, market share
  3. Backward + forward analysis: future forms of collaboration vs. current feasibility
  4. Output analysis report: opportunity assessment, strategic recommendations

Key Principles

  1. Endgame thinking: always look back from the endgame 5-10 years from now
  2. Value transfer: pay attention to how value shifts during evolution
  3. Inevitable path: identify the key steps that cannot be skipped
  4. Capability matching: assess the match between capabilities and opportunities
  5. Time window: determine whether it is too early, just right, or too late
  6. Critical thinking: see both the opportunities and point out the risks
