MBTI Personality Type Test

Overview

From a bank of 80 life-situation questions (20 questions per dimension),randomly draw 40 questions(10 questions per dimension), each with 5 gradient options, assess the user's tendencies on the four dimensions, and combine them to obtain one of 16 personality types:

Dimension Poles Meaning
Energy Orientation E(Extraversion) / I(Introversion) Source of energy: the external world vs the inner world
Information Acquisition S(Sensing) / N(Intuition) Focus on concrete facts vs overall patterns
Decision-Making Style T(Thinking) / F(Feeling) Logical analysis vs value-based care
Attitude Toward Life J(Judging) / P(Perceiving) Planned and orderly vs flexible and open

Test Process

Step 1: Welcome and Instructions

Step 2: Random Question Selection + Grouped Questioning

Read questions.md to get the complete question bank.

Random selection rules:

  1. Randomly select 10 questions from the 20 questions in each dimension
  2. Ensure that the selected questions cover different life scenarios and avoid overly concentrated themes
  3. Each test should try to select a different combination of questions (can vary based on date, conversation turn, etc.)

Questioning method: Divide into 4 rounds by dimension, with each round split into 2 sub-rounds (5 questions each), for a total of 8 AskQuestion calls.

Question order:

  1. Round 1 A/B: E/I dimension (Energy Orientation)
  2. Round 2 A/B: S/N dimension (Information Acquisition)
  3. Round 3 A/B: T/F dimension (Decision-Making Style)
  4. Round 4 A/B: J/P dimension (Attitude Toward Life)

At the start of each round, give a brief dimension introduction (1 sentence); the second sub-round may have a brief transition.

Important: For each question, the id and options id(a/b/c/d/e) must strictly follow the definitions in questions.md.

Step 3: Calculate the Score

5-level option scoring rules:

Option Meaning Score
a Strongly toward the left pole Left pole +2 points
b Slightly toward the left pole Left pole +1 point
c Neutral Both sides +0 points each
d Slightly toward the right pole Right pole +1 point
e Strongly toward the right pole Right pole +2 points

Left and right poles of each dimension:

Dimension Left pole (a/b points to) Right pole (d/e points to)
Energy direction E (Extraversion) I (Introversion)
Information acquisition S (Sensing) N (Intuition)
Decision-making style T (Thinking) F (Feeling)
Attitude toward life J (Judging) P (Perceiving)

Calculation steps:

  1. For each dimension, separately tally the left-pole total score (left) and the right-pole total score (right)
  2. Each dimension has a maximum score of 20 points (10 questions × 2 points), with a minimum of 0 points
  3. Take the side with the higher score as the result letter for that dimension
  4. If left == right == 0(all c selected), default to the left pole
  5. Each of the four dimensions yields one letter, combining into a 4-letter type code

Calculate preference strength (percentage):

  • If left + right > 0:max(left, right) / (left + right) × 100%
  • If left + right == 0: 50% (completely balanced)

Step 4: Display results

Read types.md to get the basic description of the corresponding type. Read cognitive-functions.md to get the cognitive function stack of the corresponding type.

Result display template:

Progress bar drawing rules (10 cells):

  • The left side is the left-pole letter, and the right side is the right-pole letter
  • left_bars = round(left / (left + right) × 10), if both are 0 then 5 cells each
  • right_bars = 10 - left_bars
  • ■ indicates the number of cells for the preferred side,□ indicates the other side

Step 5: Pairing analysis

After displaying the results, proactively askwhether the user wants to do a pairing analysis with another person:

想看看你和谁最合拍吗?
告诉我 TA 的 MBTI 类型,帮你做一个深度配对分析!
(如果 TA 不知道自己的类型,也可以让 TA 来测一次)

Pairing analysis process:

  1. Use the AskQuestion tool to ask for the other person's type and relationship (two questions in one call):

    • Question 1: "What is the other person's MBTI type?" — 16 types as options
    • Question 2: "What is your relationship?" — Options: lovers/partners, friends, colleagues/work partners, family/parent-child, other
  2. Read compatibility.md in:

    • The pairing classification table for the corresponding type (to quickly locate the relationship type)
    • In-depth pairing analysis framework(analyze step by step according to the framework)
  3. Read cognitive-functions.md to get both parties' function stacks and analyze the function interactions

  4. According to thedisplay templatein compatibility.md, output a complete pairing analysis report, including:

    • Dimension comparison (compare the 4 dimensions item by item, marking same/complementary)
    • Relationship type determination
    • Cognitive function interaction analysis
    • Areas of rapport (specific scenario-based descriptions)
    • Potential friction points (specific scenario-based descriptions)
    • Advice for each party on getting along
    • Directions for mutual growth
    • One golden rule
  5. After the analysis, ask the user whether they want to see pairing with someone else, or switch the relationship scenario and analyze again

Standalone pairing analysis mode: If the user directly asks to "analyze the pairing of XXXX and YYYY" without needing to take a test first, you can also go directly into the pairing analysis process and skip the test steps.

Step 6: Interactive Follow-up Questions

After the results are displayed, proactively ask the user:

  • Whether they think the results are accurate
  • Whether they want to do pairing analysis with other people (multiple people can be analyzed)
  • Whether they want to gain a deeper understanding of the cognitive function stack
  • Whether they want to go deeper into a certain aspect (career, relationships, growth)
  • For dimensions close to 50%, remind the user that they are relatively flexible in this area
  • Remind the user that they can take the test again, and the questions will change

Notes

  • Use Chinese throughout when interacting with the user
  • Maintain a relaxed and friendly tone; the testing process should be fun
  • Emphasize that MBTI is a tool for self-awareness rather than an absolute label, and that everyone is unique
  • If the user already knows their type, you can skip directly to result interpretation / pairing analysis / cognitive function analysis
  • If the user only wants to test some dimensions, it can also be adjusted flexibly
  • For dimension results close to 50/50, it should be specifically explained that this means the user is relatively flexible in that dimension
  • If the user gives a free-text answer instead of an option for a question, infer the closest option based on the content
  • If the user wants to take the test again, select a different combination of questions from the question bank than last time
