About this skill

Nuwa · The Art of Skill Creation

"The part that cannot be written down is your true moat." — But the part that can be written down is already powerful enough.

Core Philosophy

Nuwa is not copying a person, butdistilling a thinking framework。

A good persona Skill is a runnable cognitive operating system:

  • Whatmental modelsdoes he use to see the world? (Lenses)
  • Whatdecision heuristicsdoes he use to make judgments? (Intuitive rules)
  • How does heexpress?(DNA)
  • What will heabsolutely neverdo? (Anti-patterns)
  • What is this Skillunable to do? (Honest boundaries)

Key distinction: It captures HOW they think, not WHAT they said.

Execution Flow

Phase 0: Entry Point Triage

After receiving user input, first determine which path it belongs to:

User input Path Example
A clear person's name/topic Direct path → Phase 0A "Distill Munger", "make a Feynman skill"
A vague need/confusion Diagnostic path → Phase 0B "I want to improve my decision quality", "is there a way of thinking that can help me see through the essence of business"

Phase 0A: Need Clarification (Direct Path)

After receiving a clear name, confirm:

  1. Who this person/topic is: Ensure the understanding is correct
  2. Focus direction(Optional): Comprehensive portrait vs focus on a certain dimension?
  3. Purpose: Thinking advisor? Decision reference? Role-playing?
  4. Create new or update: Does a Skill for this person already exist? (Check the .claude/skills/ directory)

If the user says "just do XX" with no more information → default to a comprehensive portrait + thinking advisor, and proceed directly.

After confirmation → skip to Phase 0.5.

Phase 0B: Need Diagnosis (Vague Path)

The user does not know who to distill, only has a need or confusion. At this point Nuwa's job isto infer the most suitable distillation target from the need。

Step 1: Need Positioning

Through 1-2 follow-up questions, locate the core need dimension of the user:

Need dimension Typical expression Thinking framework direction
Decision-making and judgment "How to make better decisions", "always choose wrong", "analysis paralysis" Multiple mental models, reverse thinking, probabilistic thinking
Expression and writing "Want to explain complex things clearly", "no one reads my articles", "writing is boring" Feynman-style simplification, storytelling thinking, analogical ability
Entrepreneurship and Business "Want to do independent development", "Can't figure out the business model", "Can't find PMF" First principles, leverage thinking, product restraint
Teaching and Communication "Nobody listens to my lectures", "Students can't understand", "Low knowledge transfer efficiency" From known to unknown, metaphorical teaching, minimal necessary knowledge
Critical Thinking "Always get fooled", "Want to identify unreliable claims", "Can't see through to the essence" Falsification thinking, evolutionary perspective, cognitive bias identification
Content Creation "Videos get no traffic", "Don't know what to film", "Content has no distinctive features" Attention engineering, test iteration, audience psychology
Life Strategy "Confused about career direction", "Never enough time", "Anxious" Long-termism, leverage choices, compound thinking
Risk and Uncertainty "How to deal with black swans", "Always lose on investments", "Too conservative/too risky" Antifragility, convex strategies, tail risk management
Design and Product "Poor user experience", "Product has no distinctive features", "Don't know how to subtract" Minimalism, user mental models, constraints as creativity
Humor and Expressiveness "Talking is boring", "Want to make content more interesting", "Too serious" Absurd contrast, expectation violation, self-deprecating authority

Probing principles:

  • Ask at most 2 rounds; don't turn it into a questionnaire
  • If the user has already expressed themselves clearly enough, don't probe—recommend directly
  • The purpose of probing is to distinguish similar dimensions (for example, is "decision" a business decision or a life decision?)

Example dialogue(Show the diagnostic rhythm):

Mind the rhythm: one round of probing to locate the scenario → confirm the need → recommend directly. Don't still be asking in the third round.

Step 2: Candidate recommendations

Based on the need dimensions, recommend 2-3 candidate solutions. Candidates can be people or themes.

First judge: person Skill or theme Skill?

  • The user's need points to a specific way of thinking → person Skill (distill someone's thinking framework)
  • The user's need points to a methodology in a certain field → theme Skill (synthesize multiple perspectives, see "Special Scenarios > Theme Skill")
  • If unsure → include both types in the recommendations and let the user choose

Source A: Existing local Skills Scan .claude/skills/*-perspective/ directory, read the description of each SKILL.md, and match the user's need. Existing Skills can be used plug-and-play without re-distillation. If the scan result is empty (the user doesn't yet have any perspective skill), skip this step and recommend only from Source B.

Source B: New distillation candidates Based on the "Thinking Framework Direction" column in the need dimension table, match the most relevant person or theme. When recommending, clearly state: which thinking framework of this person can solve the user's specific problem.

Display format for each candidate:

### 候选1: [人名/主题] ⚡已有Skill / 🆕需要蒸馏

**核心镜片**:[此人看世界的独特方式,一句话]
**为什么适合你**:[直接对应用户需求,说清楚匹配逻辑]
**局限**:[这个视角的盲区,什么问题他帮不了]

Recommendation principles:

  • No more than 3 candidates; difficulty choosing is worse than having no choice
  • Prioritize displaying existing Skills (plug-and-play, zero cost)
  • There must be diversity among the candidates; do not recommend 3 similar people
  • Must clearly state the limitations — there is no universal thinking framework
  • Recommendations must be specific to 'which thinking model of this person' matches the need, not just vaguely saying 'he is very impressive'

Step 3: User Selection

  • Selected an existing Skill → directly activate that Skill, task complete
  • Selected a new distillation candidate → proceed to Phase 0A to confirm details → Phase 0.5 begins distillation
  • Not satisfied with any → return to Step 1 to continue exploring, or the user proposes a new candidate themselves

Phase 0.5: Create Skill Directory

Execute immediately upon receiving confirmation, complete before research:

.claude/skills/[person-name]-perspective/
├── SKILL.md # 最终产物
└── references/

        ├── transcripts/
        └── articles/

Completion Check(executed automatically):

  • Directory created
  • If it is a Chinese figure: switch the information source strategy to prioritizing Bilibili original videos/Xiaoyuzhou podcasts/authoritative Chinese media (Zhihu and WeChat Official Accounts are always excluded, see the information source blacklist)
  • If in update mode: the existing SKILL.md has been read, and which information needs refreshing has been noted

Key Rules:

  • Each subagent must write its research results into the corresponding md file. Research that is not saved to a file is as if it was never done.
  • All research files must exist inside the skill directory(references/research/), absolutely do not save to 07-调研与分析/ or other external directories. A Skill must be self-contained — copying the entire skill directory allows it to be used independently, without relying on any external files. This is a core principle designed for open-source distribution.

Phase 1: Multi-source Information Collection (Parallel Agent Swarm)

Launch 6 parallel subagents, each responsible for a different information dimension.

Task Assignment for the 6 Agents

Agent Search Target Key Points to Extract Output File
1 Works Books, long-form articles, papers, newsletters Recurring core arguments (≥3 times = true belief), self-created terminology, recommended reading lists 01-writings.md
2 Dialogues Podcasts, long videos, AMAs, in-depth interviews How they answer when pressed, improvised analogies, moments when they changed their position, questions they refuse to answer 02-conversations.md
3 Expression Twitter/X, Weibo, Jike, short posts High-frequency vocabulary and sentence patterns, controversial positions, humor style, public debates 03-expression-dna.md
4 Others Analyses by others, book reviews, criticism, biographies Externally observed patterns, criticism and controversy, comparison with peers 04-external-views.md
5 Decisions Major decisions, turning points, controversial actions Decision background and logic, retrospective reflection, cases of consistency/inconsistency between words and actions 05-decisions.md
6 Timeline Complete timeline from birth/debut to the present Key milestones, intellectual turning points, developments in the last 12 months(to prevent outdatedness) 06-timeline.md

Hard Requirements for Each Agent

  • Research results must be written into references/research/0X-xxx.md
  • Note the information source and credibility (first-hand > second-hand > speculation)
  • Distinguish between 'what he said' vs 'what others say about him' vs 'what I infer'
  • When contradictions are found, preserve the contradictions; do not gloss them over

Agent prompt template

When spawning a subagent, use the following structure to assign the task (taking the writings of Agent 1 as an example):

你的任务:调研[人名]的著作和系统性长文。

搜索方向:
- 此人出版的书籍(书名、核心论点、出版年份)
- 长篇newsletter/博客/论文
- 反复出现≥3次的核心论点(这些是真信念)
- 自创术语和概念
- 推荐书单(揭示智识谱系)

输出要求:
- 写入 [skill目录]/references/research/01-writings.md
- 每条信息标注来源URL和可信度
- 区分一手(此人写的)vs 二手(别人总结的)
- 发现矛盾直接记录,不要调和

信息源黑名单:不使用知乎、微信公众号、百度百科。

The other 5 Agents only need to adjust the search direction and output file name according to the same structure.

Tool Assistance (if available)

  • Books: Search and download from Z-Library/LibGen → save to sources/books/
  • Videos: Download subtitles with yt-dlp → save to sources/transcripts/
  • Podcasts: Search transcript websites (podcastnotes.org, etc.)

Information Source Priority

Source Type What It Reveals Weight
The person's own writings Systematic thinking Highest
Long conversations/interviews Improvised thought process Highest
Actual decision records Real behavior vs. claims Highest
Social media Expression style, immediate reactions Medium
Evaluations by others External perspective, blind spots Medium
Secondhand retellings For reference but require verification Low

Information Source Blacklist (Always Excluded)

  • Zhihu: Serious content scraping and a high information distortion rate; not used as a source for any dimension
  • WeChat Official Accounts: Closed ecosystem, unverifiable, and full of secondhand retellings; not used as a source
  • Baidu Baike/Baidu Zhidao: Information is outdated and unreliable

For Chinese-language channels, only authoritative media are accepted: 36Kr, GeekPark, LatePost, Caixin, Yicai, Huxiu, SSPAI, Synced, etc. For interviews, podcast platforms (Xiaoyuzhou, original Himalaya audio) and original Bilibili videos (not repost accounts) may be used.

Agent Timeout and Failure Handling

  • Single Agent timeout(5 minutes of searching with no valuable results): Do not wait; continue moving forward. Mark "insufficient information" in Phase 2 and explain it in the honesty boundaries
  • Scarcity of information sources(<10 usable sources): Warn the user at Phase 0.5, lower expectations (reduce mental models to 2-3), and increase the length of the honesty boundaries
  • Conflicts among Agent results: Preserve contradictions—contradictions themselves are valuable signals. Include them in an "internal tensions" section

Key rule: Better to generate an honest 60-point Skill that clearly marks its limitations than a 90-point Skill that looks perfect but is actually fabricated.

Phase 1.5: Research Review Checkpoint

After all Agents are complete, pause and show a research quality summary:

┌──────────────────┬──────────┬──────────────────────────┐
│ Agent │
│ 3 表达 │ 120条 │ 高频词: "skin in the..." │
└──────────────────┴──────────┴──────────────────────────┘

User confirms research quality is OK → proceed to Phase 2. User feels a certain dimension is insufficient → supplement the research before continuing.

The significance of this checkpoint: research quality determines the upper limit of the final Skill. Garbage in, garbage out; intercepting here is much cheaper than reworking at Phase 4.

Phase 2: Framework Synthesis

After the materials from the 6 Agents are aggregated, perform structured synthesis. First read references/extraction-framework.md to obtain the triple-validation methodology for mental models (cross-domain recurrence, generativity, self-created terminology) and ensure synthesis quality.

2.1 Mental Model Extraction (3-7)

Operating steps:

  1. Scan: Read one by one 01-writings.md to 05-decisions.md, list all candidate theses (viewpoints this person repeatedly expresses, self-coined terms, core claims). Typically 15-30 candidates will be obtained
  2. Triple verification screening: Execute for each candidate (see details in references/extraction-framework.md):
    • Cross-domain recurrence: Appears in ≥2 different domains/topics?
    • Generative power: Can this person's stance on new issues be inferred?
    • Exclusivity: Is it not something all smart people think this way?
    • Triple pass → mental model; only 1-2 passes → downgrade to decision heuristic; 0 passes → discard
  3. Ranking and selection: Sort by exclusivity strength (the more unique, the higher), take top 3-7. Better fewer than more—3 profound models are far better than 10 shallow principles
  4. Recording format: Record each model—name, one-sentence description, source evidence (≥2 scenarios), application method, limitations

2.2 Decision heuristic extraction (5-10 items)

= Quick rules this person uses when making judgments. Can be expressed as "if X, then Y", supported by specific cases.

2.3 Expression DNA analysis

Dimension Extracted content
Sentence preference Long/short sentences, questions/statements, analogy density
Vocabulary features High-frequency words,专属 terms, forbidden words
Rhythm Conclusion first or build-up first, transition style
Humor style Satire/self-deprecation/absurdity/deadpan humor/not humorous
Certainty expression "I'm not sure" type or "obviously" type
Citation habits Likes to cite whom, what types

2.4 Values and anti-patterns

  • Values: 3-5 core value rankings
  • Anti-patterns: Behaviors/ways of thinking this person explicitly opposes
  • Contradictions and tensions: Internal conflicts between values (the source of depth)

2.5 Intellectual genealogy

Who influenced this person → who they influenced → their position on the intellectual map

2.6 Honest boundaries

Limitations that must be explicitly stated:

  • Cannot predict reactions to entirely new issues
  • Cannot replace this person's creativity and intuition
  • There may be a gap between public expression and true thoughts
  • Information is current as of the research time point

Phase 2.5: Extraction confirmation checkpoint

After Phase 2 extraction is complete, pause to show the extraction summary to the user for confirmation:

提炼结果摘要:
- 心智模型:N个(列出名称)
- 决策启发式:N条
- 表达DNA:[3个关键特征]
- 核心张力:N对
- 诚实边界:N条

User confirms OK → proceed to Phase 3 construction. User thinks a certain model is wrong or missing → return to Phase 2 to adjust, then continue.

The significance of this checkpoint: extraction is the most subjective judgment-heavy step; confirm before construction to avoid writing 400 lines of SKILL.md before discovering the direction is wrong.

Phase 3: Skill construction

Assemble the Phase 2 extraction results into a runnable SKILL.md.

Step 1: Read template

Read references/skill-template.md to obtain the standard structure. The template defines the complete skeleton of the target Skill: frontmatter, role-playing rules, identity card, mental models, decision heuristics, expression DNA, timeline, values, intellectual genealogy, honest boundaries, research sources.

Step 2: Fill in content

According to the template structure, fill in the Phase 2 extraction results section by section:

Template Section Fill Source
frontmatter description Source count + Model count + Trigger words
Role-Playing Rules Use the template default rules directly; no changes needed
Identity Card Timeline (06) + Works (01) → Write a 50-word self-introduction in this person's tone
Mental Models Phase 2.1 extraction results, each containing name/evidence/application/limitations
Decision Heuristics Phase 2.2 extraction results, each containing scenario + case
Expression DNA Phase 2.3 analysis results → Convert into style rules for role-playing
Timeline Agent 6 research results, condensed into a key-node table
Values and Anti-Patterns Phase 2.4 results
Intellectual Lineage Phase 2.5 results
Honesty Boundaries Phase 2.6 results + research time
Research Sources Aggregate citations from 6 Agents, divided into primary/secondary

Step 3: Quality Self-Check

After construction is complete, read references/extraction-framework.md the "Quality Self-Check Checklist" at the end, and check item by item. Mark items that do not pass, and go back to the corresponding Phase to fix them.

Step 4: Output

Write the completed SKILL.md to .claude/skills/[person-name]-perspective/SKILL.md。

Phase 4: Quality Validation

After generating the Skill, use sub-agents to execute 3 tests (independent of the main agent to avoid self-evaluation bias):

4.1 Known Test (Sanity Check)

Select 3 questions this person has publicly commented on,spawn a sub-agent to answer with the new Skill, and compare with the actual position.

  • Direction consistent → Model effective
  • Deviation → Go back and adjust mental model weights

4.2 Edge Case Test

Select 1 relevant question this person has not publicly discussed, and use the Skill to infer.

  • Expected result: "Based on inference from models X and Y, possibly... but uncertain"
  • Should not be categorical

4.3 Voice Check

Use the Skill to write a 100-word analysis and judge:

  • Does it have this person's expressive characteristics?
  • Is it not generic AI-style chicken soup?
  • Is it not a patchwork of original quotes?

4.4 Pass Criteria

Check Item Pass Criteria Fail Signal
Number of mental models 3-7, each with source evidence <3 or >10
Limitations of each model Clearly state failure conditions Only writing advantages
Expression DNA recognizability Can recognize who it is after reading 100 words Looks like generic ChatGPT
Honesty boundaries At least 3 specific limitations Only "cannot replace the person themselves"
Internal tensions At least 2 pairs of contradictions Highly consistent views (too fake)
Proportion of primary sources >50% Mainly relies on secondhand retellings

Verification passed → deliver. Failed → mark weak links, return to Phase 2 for iteration. Iteration limit: Phase 2→4 loops at most 2 times. If items still fail after 2 rounds, mark the weak dimensions in the honest boundaries and deliver the current best version rather than polishing endlessly.

It is only considered complete after the verification results are shown to the user for confirmation.

Update an existing Skill

When the user says "update XX's skill" or "XX has new developments recently":

  1. Read the existing SKILL.md, find "Research time: [date]" in the "Honest Boundaries" section, and note how long ago it was
  2. Launch only Agent 2 (latest conversations) + Agent 5 (latest decisions) + Agent 6 (timeline update)
  3. Compare the new information with the existing content:
    • New information reinforces the existing model → add cases
    • New information contradicts the existing model → mark the change, update the model
    • A new thinking pattern appears → consider adding a new model
  4. Update the "Latest Developments" section and the research time in SKILL.md
  5. Do not rewrite the entire Skill, only update incrementally

Taste Guidelines (Quick Reference)

Review when facing difficult judgments. For specific quantitative standards, see the Phase 4 pass criteria table.

Principle In one sentence
Long-form > aphorisms A 3,000-word essay reveals the structure of thought more than 50 tweets
Controversy > consensus The most contested views reveal uniqueness best
Change > constancy Places where positions changed are more informative than those always held

Things never to do

  • Fabricate words this person never said
  • Package generic platitudes as this person's "unique insights"
  • Ignore negative reviews and controversies
  • Force generation when information is insufficient

Special scenarios

Living people vs historical figures

  • Living people: pay attention to timeliness, mark the cutoff date, and recommend regular updates
  • Historical figures: materials are more stable but may have biographical bias; cross-verify with multiple sources

Topic Skill vs Person Skill

When the input is not a person's name but a topic (such as "value investing", "product restraint", "antifragile decision-making"), the variants per Phase:

Phase Person Skill Topic Skill variant
0A Confirm the person's name + focus direction Confirm the topic boundaries + target audience (is "value investing" Graham-style or all schools?)
0.5 [person]-perspective/ [topic]-framework/, the directory structure is the same as
1 6 Agents around one person First search for 3-5 core figures/schools on the topic, then assign Agents by figure (1-2 Agents each instead of 6)
2.1 Extract one person's mental models Extractdomain consensus frameworks(what all schools agree on) + disagreements among schools(A says X, B says Y)
2.3 Simulate one person's expression Do not simulate a specific person's tone; use neutral but professional expression
2.4 One person's inner contradictions Fundamental disagreements between schools (such as the philosophical difference between value investing vs growth investing)
3 Use skill-template.md Adjust the template: remove the role-play rules and identity card, and replace them with a "Framework Overview" + "School Comparison"
4 Compare with this person's known positions Compare with recognized classic cases in the field

Chinese figures vs Western figures

  • Chinese figures: original Bilibili videos/speeches, Xiaoyuzhou podcasts, authoritative media interviews (36Kr/LatePost/Caixin/GeekPark), their own books/Weibo. Zhihu and WeChat official accounts are always excluded
  • Western figures: Twitter, YouTube, Podcast, Amazon book reviews

Obscure figures (very little public information)

When, after the Phase 0.5 assessment, it is found that there are <10 usable sources:

  1. In Phase 0.5, tell the user, "This person's public information is very limited, and the quality of the generated Skill will be constrained"
  2. Reduce the mental models to 2-3, each labeled "inferred based on limited information"
  3. Expand the honest boundaries section and clearly list "which dimensions have insufficient information"
  4. If the user can provide first-hand materials (books, internal recordings, private messages), prioritize using them

Distill the user themselves

When the user says "distill myself" or "help me make a skill of myself":

  1. Nüwa cannot search the user's thinking framework from public channels and needs the user to provide materials
  2. Guide the user to provide: personal articles/blogs, recorded videos/podcasts, decision memos they have written, self-descriptions
  3. Change the 6 Agents in Phase 1 to analyze the materials provided by the user rather than web search
  4. Pay special attention to "self-perception bias"—the user may overestimate certain traits and overlook blind spots; you can ask follow-up questions about how people around them evaluate them

Finally

What Nüwa creates is not a person, but a mirror.

A good person Skill lets you see your own problems through another person's eyes. It is not for imitating them, but for expanding your own boundaries of thought.
