Load clips only from approved asset roots. Add named tracks with normalized coordinates and explicit frames. Confirm enough common tracks and meaningful parallax before solving.
Camera solve and scene setup require a foreground CLIP_EDITOR. Accept a solve only after inspecting bundle count and measured reprojection error against the task threshold; operator success alone is insufficient.
Preserve the original footage path and solved .blend receipt. Tracking does not imply masking or editing; combine with render-compositing or sequence-editing only when the task requests those outcomes.
When to Use
Use when approved live-action footage requires creating tracking points, solving the camera, setting up the scene, and accepting it based on reprojection error.
Prerequisites
- Locally approved footage, lens information, frame range, marker names/coordinates, and error threshold.
- Confirm there are enough shared tracks, parallax, and a foreground CLIP_EDITOR.
Workflow
Step 1. Load the clip from the approved root directory, recording the original path and media properties.
Step 2. Add named tracks using normalized coordinates and explicit frames, and check continuous visibility.
Step 3. Perform camera solving and scene setup with CLIP_EDITOR in the foreground.
Step 4. Check the bundle count, coverage interval, reprojection error, and anomalous tracks.
Step 5. Save solved .blend, reopen, and re-verify the camera and footage binding.
Validation and Delivery Evidence
Provide the footage hash, tracks/bundles count, frame coverage, mean/max reprojection error, threshold, camera parameters, and reopen receipt.
Rules and Capability Boundaries (Inapplicable Scenarios)
Operator success does not equal a qualified solve; tracking does not include masking, editing, or compositing, and a stable solve must not be faked when parallax is lacking.
Gotchas (Common Issues and Recovery)
- Excessive error: remove anomalous tracks, confirm lens parameters, then re-solve.
- Unstable solve: check the shared track count and parallax, and mark as unverifiable if necessary.
- Footage path lost: preserve provenance and wait for the path to be re-authorized.
