About this skill

Blender cinematography

Use for camera creation, lens choice, composition, path following, focus and handheld motion. Obtain the subject list, intended shot size, frame range and movement beats before changing the camera.

Create or select one delivery camera, aim it at an explicit point or object, then add path and handheld behavior only when required. Handheld noise must remain parameterized and visually subordinate to readable subject motion.

Run validation.camera_visibility over the specified frames and inspect camera plus orthographic previews. Report missed objects and frame ranges rather than claiming that a constraint or keyframe guarantees good composition. Camera work does not authorize rendering, export or downstream generation.

When to Use

Use when the task involves shot creation, focal length, composition, camera movement, depth of field, focus pulling, or controllable handheld effects. Use only when reviewing screenshots blender-preview。

Inputs and Prerequisites

  • Define the subject, shot size, frame, resolution, frame rate, interval, and motion rhythm.
  • Specify non-occludable objects, allowed crop range, focus target, and camera movement constraints.

Workflow

Step 1. Check the existing camera, subject bounding box, and timeline, and select a single delivery camera. Step 2. First determine the focal length, position, and aim point, then configure the path, depth of field, and handheld parameters. Step 3. Check visibility, screen coverage, horizon, and motion continuity at keyframes and interval sample points. Step 4. Capture the camera and orthographic views, and record failed frames and adjustment reasons.

Validation and Delivery Evidence

Provide the camera name, focal length, frame, keyframes, constraints, focus distance, and validation.camera_visibility objects and failed frames; visual acceptance covers the first, middle, and last frames as well as motion extreme frames.

Rules and Capability Boundaries (Inapplicable Scenarios)

Does not authorize rendering, export, or external generation. Visibility checks cannot prove aesthetic composition, and successful constraints cannot prove that the shot has no occlusion or motion sickness risk.

Gotchas (Common Issues and Recovery)

  • Subject out of frame: after locating the failed frame, adjust the path or focal length.
  • Path flipping: check the forward/up axes and curve direction.
  • Depth of field drift: verify the focus target, unit scale, and unintended animation channels.
