Recap Context - Restore Project Context

Overview

Restore project context at the start of a new session, read the progress file and work logs, and help the user continue previous work.

When to Use

• When starting a new session
• User says "recap", "restore context", "continue the previous work"
• When context needs to be restored after switching to a different project

Execution Steps

1. Check whether the workflow has been initialized

Check whether the following files exist:

• docs/progress.md
• docs/memory/ directory

If missing, prompt the user to first run init-workflow。

2. Read the status snapshot

Read docs/progress.md, and extract:

• Work currently in progress
• To-do items
• Blockers/pain points
• Recent decisions
• Related document links

3. Read the work logs

Read the log files from the last 3 days in the docs/memory/ directory (sorted by date in the file name):

• YYYY-MM-DD.md format
• Extract: what was completed today, what is in progress, decision records, and problems encountered

4. Summarize the context

Present the following to the user:

Notes

• If there are many work logs, only read the last 3 days
• If there is no progress.md, prompt the user to first run checkpoint
• Keep the summary concise and highlight the key points

Success Criteria

• Successfully read progress.md
• Successfully read the recent work logs
• Present a clear status summary to the user
• Provide suggestions for continuing work
