On May 16, 2024, the San Francisco-based business intelligence cloud analytics solutions startupSigmaannounced the completion of a $200 million Series D funding round. This round was co-led by Spark Capital and Avenir Growth Capital, with participation from new investors including NewView Capital. Existing investors including Snowflake Ventures, Sutter Hill Ventures, D1 Ventures, Xn Ventures, and Altimeter Capital also participated in this round.
The company plans to use the raised funds to continue transforming business intelligence (BI) through its innovations in AI infrastructure, data application development, enterprise-level collaboration, and business user adoption.
Sigma is the fastest-growing cloud data analytics and application workflow platform on the market, enabling enterprises to achieve new value in cloud transformation by improving the scale and security of BI and adding previously impossible capabilities such as warehouse write-back, real-time collaboration, and application development. This funding round will help accelerate Sigma's growth, drive its leadership position in the cloud data analytics market, and redefine the next category of data platforms through the development of new features such as the AI toolkit, scalable data application building capabilities, a notebook-like experience for SQL and Python coding in Sigma, and user experience enhancements for Sigma's embedded analytics product.
