SeedEdit 3.0 is an image editing model launched by ByteDance's Seed team, supporting fast, high-quality image editing through natural language instructions. The model relies on a powerful text-to-image model Seedream 3.0, and can accurately understand user instructions to complete a variety of complex editing tasks, including style transfer, detail adjustment, text modification, lighting and shadow changes, and more. The model performs excellently in preserving the main subject and details of images, supports high-definition image processing, and is suitable for professional designers, content creators, and ordinary users, greatly simplifying the image editing process and improving creative efficiency. The model is now officially available on Volcano Ark.

- Generation technology based on diffusion models: Uses a diffusion model (Diffusion Model) as the core generation technology. Combined with a causal diffusion network (Causal Diffusion Network), it can better control image details and consistency during the generation process.
- Multi-source data fusion and meta-info embedding: Integrates multiple data sources, including data generated by internal T2I models, data generated by editing experts, traditional editing operation data, and video frame data. Based on a meta-info (Meta-Info) embedding strategy, it incorporates labels, descriptions, and editing tags from different data sources into the training process, helping the model better understand and distinguish the characteristics of different datasets.
- Joint learning and reward models: Simultaneously calculates diffusion loss (Diffusion Loss) and reward loss (Reward Loss) to ensure that generated images follow editing instructions while preserving important image details and style. Multiple reward models are introduced, focusing on attributes users care about, such as facial recognition, detailed structure, and aesthetic effects.
- Efficient inference acceleration: Through Classifier-Free Guidance (CFG) distillation technology, conditional and unconditional generation paths are fused to improve inference speed. An adaptive timestep sampling strategy is used to concentrate computational resources on the most influential timesteps, further optimizing training efficiency.
- Multilingual support: Supports Chinese and English instructions, and performs task description and annotation based on a multilingual model (VLM), ensuring accurate understanding and execution of editing instructions in different language environments.
