What is OpenFang
OpenFang is an open-source Agent operating system built with Rust. Its core innovation is Hands - 7 preset autonomous capability packages that allow AI to automatically execute tasks 24/7 without manual triggering (such as monitoring competitors, mining customers, and editing videos). Compared to traditional Agents where "you say one sentence and it does one thing," Hands comes with a complete SOP closed-loop operation. The system supports 40 messaging platforms and 27 LLM providers, positioned as production-grade AI automation infrastructure that combines lightweight design with comprehensive functionality.
OpenFang's Main Features
-
Hands Autonomous Operation: 7 preset Hands packages allow the Agent to automatically execute complete workflows on schedule without manual sentence-by-sentence triggering.
-
Continuous Monitoring and Collection: Collector tracks competitor dynamics and public sentiment changes in real time, automatically builds a knowledge graph, and pushes alerts.
-
Intelligent Lead Mining: Lead automatically discovers potential customers daily, completes research, scoring, and deduplication, then outputs structured reports.
-
Deep Research and Analysis: Researcher cross-validates multi-source information and generates multilingual research reports with citations.
-
Automatic Video Editing: Clip's 8-stage pipeline automatically downloads, identifies highlights, edits vertical videos, adds subtitles, and publishes.
-
Browser Automation: Browser simulates web operations and mandates manual confirmation for transactions to ensure safety.
-
Prediction and Content Management: Predictor performs multi-source signal prediction, and Twitter Hand automatically operates social accounts.
OpenFang's Technical Principles
- Rust Full-Stack Architecture: The system uses a modular design of 14 independent crates, totaling 137,000 lines of code compiled into a single ~32MB binary file, achieving zero-dependency deployment and millisecond-level cold starts while balancing performance and portability.
- WASM Sandbox Isolation: Tool code runs in a WebAssembly dual-metering sandbox. Through fuel metering and epoch interruption mechanisms, combined with watchdog threads to terminate runaway code, it ensures Agent anomalies do not affect the host system.
- Merkle Audit Chain: All operations are cryptographically recorded in a hash chain, forming a tamper-proof audit trail. Any single-point tampering will break the entire chain, enabling precise traceability and compliance auditing.
- Information Flow Taint Tracking: Sensitive data is marked and tracked from generation to consumption. Combined with Secret Zeroization technology, secrets such as API keys are automatically erased from memory the moment they become invalid, preventing leaks.
- 16-Layer Defense in Depth: Independently operating security layers cover SSRF protection, path traversal prevention, prompt injection detection, loop call circuit breaking, and more. Each layer has no single point of failure. Permission gating and mandatory manual confirmation mechanisms build security constraints into the architecture rather than applying them as after-the-fact patches.

OpenFang's Application Scenarios
-
Short Video Operations Teams: Use Clip Hand to automatically edit long video footage, generate vertical short clips, and schedule publishing, achieving an unmanned content factory producing 50 short videos per day.
-
SaaS Enterprise Sales Departments: Based on Lead Hand, automatically mine and screen potential customers daily. Sales teams directly obtain high-quality lead lists, improving conversion efficiency.
-
Investment Institution Analysts: Use Researcher Hand to automatically generate industry research reports with citations, use Collector Hand to monitor target dynamics, and shift energy from information collection to value judgment.
-
Cross-border e-commerce operations: Use Collector Hand to track reviews and competitor prices across multiple platforms in real time, with instant alerts on anomalies, achieving public opinion risk control with a 15-minute rapid response.
-
Corporate finance departments: Use Browser Hand to automatically log in to multiple platforms to download transaction records and reconcile bills, with manual confirmation required only for large anomalies, compressing a 3-day reconciliation cycle to 2 hours.
