On April 23, 2024, the AI web testing startup headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, Octomind announced it had raised $4.8 million in seed funding. Investors in this round include Cherry Ventures, as well as angel investors Sean Mullaney (founder of Algolia), Charlie Songhurst (former Microsoft executive), and Lutz Finger (former LinkedIn and Snapchat executive).
The company plans to use the raised funds to strengthen the stability and trustworthiness of its AI-driven testing technology, in order to improve its competitiveness in the software testing market.
Octomind was co-founded by Marc Mengler and Daniel Roedler in 2023. The company has developed an AI agent that can automatically identify test points in web applications, write test cases, and keep tests updated without manual intervention, thereby helping enterprises find and fix vulnerabilities before their customers do.
