What is Nemotron 3
Nemotron 3 is a new open-source model series launched by NVIDIA, including three sizes: Nano, Super, and Ultra. The models adopt a breakthrough Hybrid Mixture of Experts (MoE) architecture, designed for building efficient and accurate multi-agent AI applications. Nemotron 3 Nano has 30 billion parameters and, by optimizing inference costs, achieves up to 4 times the throughput of the previous generation, making it suitable for tasks such as software debugging and content summarization. Super and Ultra have 100 billion and 500 billion parameters respectively, for complex reasoning and multi-agent collaboration. Nemotron 3 provides massive training data and open-source tools, helping developers quickly build and deploy specialized AI systems and advancing the development of multi-agent AI.
Main Features of Nemotron 3
-
Efficient Inference: Nemotron 3 Nano has 30 billion parameters and, through the Hybrid Mixture of Experts (MoE) architecture, achieves up to 4 times the throughput of the previous generation, significantly reducing inference costs.
-
Multi-Agent Collaboration: Nemotron 3 Super and Ultra have 100 billion and 500 billion parameters respectively, supporting complex multi-agent applications and handling tasks that require deep reasoning and strategic planning.
-
Long-Text Processing Capability: Nemotron 3 Nano supports a context window of 1 million words, better handling long-text tasks and maintaining information coherence.
-
High-Precision Reasoning: Through advanced reinforcement learning techniques and multi-environment concurrent training, Nemotron 3 performs excellently in terms of accuracy.
Technical Principles of Nemotron 3
-
Hybrid Mixture of Experts (MoE) Architecture: Nemotron 3 Nano adopts a unique hybrid MoE architecture, dynamically activating part of the parameters (for example, the Nano model activates up to 3 billion parameters each time), achieving higher throughput and lower inference costs while maintaining efficient computation.
-
Reinforcement Learning and Multi-Environment Training: The model uses advanced reinforcement learning techniques to conduct concurrent training in multiple environments, improving the accuracy and adaptability of reasoning.
-
Efficient Training Format: Nemotron 3 Super and Ultra use NVIDIA's 4-bit NVFP4 training format, significantly reducing memory requirements and accelerating the training process while maintaining accuracy comparable to high-precision formats.
-
Large-Scale Pre-Training Dataset: Provides pre-training, post-training, and reinforcement learning datasets containing 3 trillion tokens, offering the model rich examples of reasoning, coding, and multi-step workflows, and supporting domain specialization.
