What is MoLing
MoLing is a dependency-free local office automation assistant, an MCP server based on computer and browser use. MoLing implements system interaction based on operating system APIs, supports file system operations (such as reading/writing, merging, statistics, and aggregation), and executes system commands. MoLing is compatible with Windows, Linux, and macOS, requires no additional dependencies, avoids conflicts with development environments such as Node.js, Python, and Docker, and is suitable for various office automation scenarios.
MoLing's Main Features
- File Operations: Read, write, and merge files, and perform data statistics and aggregation.
- Command Execution: Directly run system commands with batch operation support, suitable for development and operations.
- Browser Control: Automate web operations such as scraping content and filling out forms, with headless mode support.
MoLing's Technical Principles
- Operating System APIs: Implements operations on the local file system and command line based on APIs provided by the operating system. Operating system APIs provide access interfaces to low-level functions such as the file system, process management, and network communication.
- Browser Automation Framework: Implements browser control functionality based on the github.com/chromedp/chromedp browser automation framework. chromedp is a Go language library based on the Chrome DevTools Protocol that supports developers in controlling the Chrome browser programmatically.
- Dependency-Free Operation: Developed based on the Go language, which has cross-platform and compiled characteristics, generating independent executable files with no need to depend on external environments. It avoids compatibility issues caused by environment configuration problems and runs seamlessly on multiple operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Flexible Deployment Modes:
- Stdio Mode: A command-line-based interaction mode, suitable for human-computer collaboration.
- SSR Mode: Server-side rendering mode, suitable for remote invocation and distributed deployment. MoLing runs as a server and supports invocation by remote clients, suitable for scenarios requiring distributed deployment.
