What is MiniCPM-o 2.6
MiniCPM-o 2.6 is the latest and best-performing multimodal large model in the MiniCPM-o series, with 8B parameters. MiniCPM-o 2.6 performs excellently in multiple fields such as vision, speech, and multimodal live streaming, reaching a performance level comparable to GPT-4o. The model supports real-time bilingual speech recognition, surpassing the real-time recognition performance of GPT-4o, and supports more than 30 languages. MiniCPM-o 2.6 is based on advanced token density technology, processing 1.8 million-pixel images with only 640 tokens, significantly improving inference speed and efficiency. MiniCPM-o 2.6 supports efficient operation of multimodal live streaming on edge devices such as iPad.
Main features of MiniCPM-o 2.6
- Leading visual capabilities:Supports processing images of any aspect ratio, with pixel count up to 1.8 million (such as 1344×1344).
- Outstanding speech capabilities:Supports real-time bilingual Chinese-English dialogue with configurable voice. Supports advanced capabilities such as emotion/speed/style control, end-to-end voice cloning, and role-playing.
- Powerful multimodal streaming interaction capabilities:Accepts continuous video and audio streams and conducts real-time voice interaction with users.
- Efficient inference capabilities:Only 640 tokens are needed to process 1.8 million-pixel images, 75% fewer than most models. Supports efficient multimodal real-time streaming interaction on terminal devices such as iPad.
- Easy to use:Supports multiple inference methods, including llama.cpp, ollama, vLLM, etc. Provides quantized models in int4 and GGUF formats, reducing memory usage and accelerating inference.
Technical principles of MiniCPM-o 2.6
- End-to-end omni-modal architecture: Encoders/decoders of different modalities are connected and trained in an end-to-end manner, fully based on rich multimodal knowledge.
- Omni-modal live streaming mechanism: Offline modality encoders/decoders are changed to online versions, supporting streaming input/output, and a time-division multiplexing (TDM) mechanism is designed for omni-modal stream processing in the LLM backbone.
- Configurable speech modeling design: A multimodal system prompt is designed, including traditional text system prompts and new audio system prompts, determining the assistant's timbre and enabling flexible timbre configuration.
