On April 3, 2024, the AI medical startup headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, HD announced it had raised $5.6 million in Series A funding, led by SBI Ven Capital, a subsidiary of Japanese financial giant SBI Group, with participation from M Venture Partners, FEBE Ventures, Partech Partners, Ratio Ventures, Orvel Ventures, and TA Ventures.
The company plans to use the raised funds to launch a chatbot for the Southeast Asian market within 3 months and to open the technology for third-party use before the end of this year.
Founded in 2019, HD is developing an AI conversational chatbot focused on the medical field that can handle routine customer questions, enabling staff to handle complex issues while helping ensure 24/7 customer service. The startup has partnered with about 2,000 healthcare providers in Asia to fine-tune its underlying language model for the healthcare sector.
