On April 2, 2024, the AI chip startup headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, Halio announced it has raised $120 million in Series C+ funding, with investors including the Zisapel family, Gil Agmon, Delek Motors, Alfred Akirov, DCLBA, Vasuki, OurCrowd, Talcar, Comasco, Automotive Equipment (AEV), and Poalim Equity. The company also announced the launch of its innovative Hailo-10 high-performance generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) accelerator, enabling users to own and run GenAI applications locally without subscribing to cloud-based GenAI services.
The company has raised more than $340 million to date and plans to use the funds raised to continue expanding its business and development efforts.
Hailo was co-founded in 2017 by Orr Danon and Avi Baum, who previously served as Chief Technology Officer for Wireless Connectivity at microprocessor company Texas Instruments. The company designs specialized chips to run artificial intelligence workloads on edge devices. Hailo's chips perform AI tasks with lower memory usage and power consumption than typical processors, making it a supplier for compact, offline, and battery-powered devices such as cars, smart cameras, and robots.
